Hi ladies,
I took my FMU to the docs today as requested and was given the news this afternoon it was positive (which made me believe it more). They've made me book an appointment with the doctor for the 24th. So I'm just waiting now.Reduction in daily mortgage interest since October 23 (new mortgage) - £2.36 July 25

Had a positive result yesterday so im only 4 weeks, that first scan is going to seem a mile away !
The normal booking in time is 9 weeks with the midwife and 13 weeks for the scan, going to do battle with the surgery receptionist next week and see if I can get in sooner -Im really not happy to wait that long !Bow Ties ARE cool "Just because you are offended, doesnt mean you are right" Ricky Gervais0 -
Welcome to all the newbies!
Sorry ladies but need to have a rant. I've had a very unpleasant first trimester, I've tried not to moan about it as it took us over a year of trying to get here and I've been trying to enjoy it as best I can. !We went out with DHs friend and his fianc! on Thursday night(she's 29 weeks with her first). She asked me how I was finding pregnancy. So trying to be positive as I could be I said it hasn't been very enjoyable a but I'm taking things one day at a time and it does seem to be getting easier. To which she replied "well if you can't cope now, I don't know how you ever going to cope with the second trimester, let alone the third and definitely not the birth". !She went on to tell me how I'm going to have a horrific labour and birth as I'm not walking for 30 minutes a day.!
We moved at the end of October as my husband got offered a job he really wanted, which meant I had to resign, my contract was nearly finished anyway, so seemed the obvious thing to do, I haven't be able to find anything in the mean time. She, of course, had something to say about that: "You must feel like slitting your wrists stuck at home all day".!
I want to talk to DH about it, but I know he tell me that I'm just being sensitive, but it's got me really upset and angry, pregnancy is hard enough without having someone you hardly know put a damper on things and predict bad things for you.!
Hope everyone has a fantastic week! :-)Wins 2015:

I'm not suprised!!!:mad::mad: What an awful woman, why are people so insensitive sometimes? I'd have been so upset I'd burst into tears in front of her...but then I am super duper emotional at the moment anyway!
Of course you will be able to cope and you will be fantasticMy first trimester was pretty miserable with all the tiredness and sickness - not what I thought it would be at all! But now at 17 weeks I am feeling much much better, so fingers crossed you will too!
Lots of love xxxMFW!

I have to be honest I would have told her to F off. I'm not very good at holding back my emotions when people irritate me (and that was pre-pregnancy). Every pregnancy is different. Even the same person can have 2 very different pregnancies and so nobody knows how they or anyone else will cope with anything. I'd just be happy that you are starting to find it easier (I'm only 5 weeks and have a constant hungover feeling...nice) and enjoy whats happening as it gets better for you. Also, if she's THAT "by the book" she's more likely to have a difficult time anyway because if anything goes wrong she'll never cope!!!
To be honest, I don't think hormones have grabbed me yet (famous last words). I am tired though and I defo know that is having an impact, I am finding myself getting grumpy and thinking people should get a grip that bit more.Reduction in daily mortgage interest since October 23 (new mortgage) - £2.36 July 25
