Just called the spa and they won't do any massage at all until after 14 weeks. I knew that it was a possibility, some place will do so massage and some won't. So I have the choice between, facial, manicure and pedicure. Oh well the facial will be nice (not really fussed about my nails) :) It's going to near impossible to get away with no one twigging I'm pregnant! :o

Happy to hear both of you ladies have got the ball rolling :)

I'm considering going to get a pedicure Emsbet, never had one before, and I really dislike feet, especially mine so not sure how self concious I'd feel with someone touching them :o but they are looking a bit neglected recently :(

Another one here for the stretchy club- keep gasping and holding stomach every time I cough / stand up / move. Poor OH is panicking every single time, think he's getting extra grey hairs.

Today's moan is 'why do I look so dog rough' :rotfl:

I am sleeping LOTS (no choice in that one!) I haven't had a cigarette or an alcoholic drink since I found out I was pregnant. I've been watching what I eat and have even been eating fruit and veg. So why do I look as if I've just got up after an all weekend bender?

My foundation is just falling off, my skin looks really dull, my eyes are puffy and a bit squinty, and I'm pale (which makes my patchy foundation look even better as it no longer matches my skin tone!).

I thought I was supposed to be 'blooming'??!! Anyone else looking like the living dead or is it just me??

Nope, me too. Early pregnancy is hard work. You feel awful and you look it too. I had such bad days sometimes that I couldn't even get dressed and the most I could do was gently sob. Not only did I feel physically dreadful but I also felt completely overwhelmed and anxious at times.

But... it gets better! Trust me, in your fourth month you should start to feel better. I'm no longer sick, I've got some energy back, I'm sleeping better and feeling so much happier. Your 12 week scan's a real milestone too - you can really see the baby and that, coupled with starting to feel better, really makes you turn the corner from 'ooh, I'm pregnant, how exciting but weird' to 'I really love my baby already'.

I'm making myself cry now! (That doesn't go away after three months - still crying at anything!).

I think I'm going to get the manicure to make my nails look pretty for the evening. My shoes are open toed so I think it might be pointless getting them done.

That will be nice :) they may be able to do something funky with them. I love funky nails, but I bite mines and wear falsies constantly but recently I've been biting my nails so much I can't even get falsies to stick :( duno why either, don't feel stressed or anything. Random.

It'l be nice for you to just get away and relax!

Yeah maybe, I don't really do anything with mine. I occasionally paint them but I'm lazy and never take the nail varnish off, just wait for it to chip off :o I'm quite lucky in that my nails have quite a good natural shape and a really wide so I don't need to do much with them. They do need filing back though at the moment because they've gotten too long.

I am looking forward to a nice break away though and a relax and some nice food.

    Afternoon all,

I have my appointment with the doctor to tell him I'm pregnant this afternoon. I know it's nothing more than a form filling exercise but I'm still quite looking forward to it. I think it will just make it seem more real. DH is going to meet me there and then he's going to treat me to tea at Wetherspoons. We are both real ale drinkers and we've got some Wetherspoons ale vouchers to use up that we got for joining CAMRA. DH is going to have use them all up himself now!

I think we're going to tell our parents at the weekend. We're only telling my mom and DH's mom and dad for now and we're going to ask them to keep it to themselves for a while. We're just desperate to share our news with someone! I can't wait to see the reactions.....

afternoon everyone.. what a busy thread nowadays? :) just caught up with it and trying to work even though it is not happening today for me..

had my MW appointment this morning and it took me ages to get there, and it was late as usual but the MW was so lovely.. loved her irish accent and she was just compassionate and lovely. shame i only see her today and after this at 16 weeks i see some other one at my GPs. :-( hope she is nice
anyway explained all about the scan last week and maybe the miscalculation. she said it is a possibility which is why sometimes they give women up to 40 weeks or 41 to give birth too as the dates can move. anyway told her was worried about the baby being 5 weeks and she said sometimes it is good to have an early scan and sometimes not as the machines are not always accurate.. oh well. back to thinking about it. :( she was very matter-of-fact and said to try and block it as stressing wont help but she said we will take it all from next week. she gave me information and that bounty pack to collect. :) she took blood and urine, and i forgot to ask her where i get those results from ? silly me.. i forgot..so she said we shouold still go with me being 9 weeks + 2.. hmm not so sure now. i have a headache and i m tired. so hard to be positive but will try. scans only on tuesday *says with being nervous*
    xxx

glad to know you ladies are ok.. am hungry now after reading about food. :)
