I get right-hand side pain really often too. Sometimes a stab, sometimes a stretch, sometimes an ache. I mentioned it to the OH the other night. His response? "Oh dear. Did I tell you my knee hurts?". Couldn't give a monkey's about his knee! I'm talking about being pregnant with OUR BABY!!"Growth for growth's sake is the ideology of the cancer cell" - Edward Abbey.0

LOl fluffnutter iknow what you mean. men start their own thing dont they? i swear they dont get it. sometimes hubby just says 'oh sorry' if i say i am in pain and gets on with his stuff (normally online nonsense) and then i get annoyed as hes not really paying attention.. then last night when we watched one born every minute, and the woman was in pain and screaming, he said 'you better not be like this'!! i got annoyed and said how do you know how much pain one can get in? i told him i would take some other guy in the room with me and he didnt like that! heheBecame Mrs H on the 1st of October 2011!!

Afternoon
Another one here for the stretchy club- keep gasping and holding stomach every time I cough / stand up / move. Poor OH is panicking every single time, think he's getting extra grey hairs.
Today's moan is 'why do I look so dog rough' :rotfl:
I am sleeping LOTS (no choice in that one!) I haven't had a cigarette or an alcoholic drink since I found out I was pregnant. I've been watching what I eat and have even been eating fruit and veg. So why do I look as if I've just got up after an all weekend bender?
My foundation is just falling off, my skin looks really dull, my eyes are puffy and a bit squinty, and I'm pale (which makes my patchy foundation look even better as it no longer matches my skin tone!).
I thought I was supposed to be 'blooming'??!! Anyone else looking like the living dead or is it just me??
When I combine all this with the recent flatulence (sorry if TMI), moodiness, and general rage I can't help feeling that my lovely OH is getting a lot more than he bargained for :rotfl:Don't suffer alone - if you are experiencing Domestic Abuse contact the National Domestic Abuse Helplines

ah shell girl im inthe same boat as you.. to top it up,i cant be even bothered to wash my hair.. its so greasy. i feel yuck and my skin is breaking out.
.. i am too tired but i dont get a chance to sleep early as hubby always wakes me up when he comes up the stairs, opens the door, goes to the loo. he annoys me so i just fall asleep on the sofa and when i am in bed, it takes me a while to go to bed.
i thought the same thing the other day! where is the nice bloomy radiant skin? lolBecame Mrs H on the 1st of October 2011!!

Hehe, If I were you Rups I'd start trading on those famous pregnancy mood swings. My OH used to come to bed much later than me every night, and always woke me up. A few nights of the death stare as I'm going to bed and a 'don't you DARE wake me up' and he's quiet as a mouse now, and comes to bed the same time as me. Poor thing- I think I've burst into tears about something ridiculous at least once a day for a week
Thing is, we need to get as much sleep as possible now, so in 9 months when we're sleep deprived and stressed we can look back fondly and know that we didn't waste any time being awake when we could've been sleeping!Don't suffer alone - if you are experiencing Domestic Abuse contact the National Domestic Abuse Helplines

you are so right.. i have tried everything with hubby. thing with his is being half-scottish he always has that temper on him and finds me nagging him all the time and it always ends in tears. He says he makes a conscious effort to be quiet (HE DOES NOT, as i can still hear him) and he says i just moan at him! lose lose situation. once he was playing his wii and i asked him nicely to come up quietly. only then he came up the stairs quietly but he managed to do something to wake me up! i always tut at him at night too as he turns around like he is splashing around in water! i feel so bad but i do worry if i have to go to bed first so i just sit downstairs.
and fall asleep there.
i do need sleep though. maybe i can give him the story that 'the MW said this and that...' haha. i know i do nag the poor soul but he just ends up annoying me. men hey?Became Mrs H on the 1st of October 2011!!

Congrats Rebekah, glad your scan went well.
Rups - good luck with the midwife tomorrow and bombard her with as many questions as you want. I'm sure they are used to it.

Good luck today Rebekah
Fishcake I'm sure you probably know this as you've had a child before but I thought I'd mention it in case anyone else has similar feelings to you, you don't have to have any of the scans or any other test, they are all optional (there's some information here and here about it).
I personally will be having all the scans they give me (and would happily have more) but that's because of my past experiences. I won't be however having all the tests, for example the test for downs syndrome. There is a lot more choice than people realise. Although I'm sure medical professionals may add pressure to people who opt out of some tests or scans. And of course it depends on how your OH feels too.
xx
i really like the point of this post, basically its your body no one can tell you what to do. i am having all regular scans and tests but i will not be getting the flu jab (recommended by my midwife) i just dont agree with it.
