To be honest (and I am the sort to throw my weight around!) I would put my foot down Rups32 - it's not your DH giving birth, it's you. So you need to be comfortable, and sod the cost of cabs or whatever, you need to feel safe in the environment in which you're going to be going through something which is both unknown, painful and potentially quite scary.
Having said that, I wanted a homebirth, but DH was really unhappy about the idea. So we've compromised on a midwife led unit attached to a 'proper' hospital.
And if you don't get your own way with DH - Mayday dealt with my miscarriage in September, and I have to say that they were really very good in the EPU, so you may have a nice surprise, I've also heard good things about their new MW led centre.0 -
ah thanks for that sa-ra...i did email him and say that i hope he understands that want to be in a good hosp and he said he does, but he is worried about getting to one on time. we wuold have to cab it but i am sure it will be fine.
ok. maybe i can wait then and just see... let me get my scan appoitntment and then can decide, as was reading in the reviews that you can change at any time, so i can stop panicking. hehe

*deep breath* Hi ladies, please can I join you?
I tested yesterday and got a bfp, shocked but happy shocked I think.
It's really really early days for me, 4 weeks at the most, so I'm aware that it might not all work out ok.
I suppose I'm here because I know NOTHING about any of this. I know I need to take some folic acid etc, planning to pop to boots and buying some pregnancy vitamins this lunchtime- if anyone has any recommendations I'd be grateful.
I'm guessing it's too early for me to get in touch with the doctor?
