I have been offered seat once, without playing the pregnant card and was too shocked/embarrassed to accept it. This time - I couldn't even reach the seats it was so busy!

I just read in babycentre that my pains could be symptoms of PDP - pelvic girdle pain. I made notes and will ask midwife tomorrow, if I am brave enough.

I am a wimp. I can talk to you about anything, but I am too shy with people...

  • Honestly, the midwife will have seen/heard it all before! Part of her job is inspecting women's nether regions and watching women push babies out...there is nothing you could say/show her that you need be embarrassed or shy about!

If you find it hard to get the words out, maybe say "I've got a list of questions written down, if you wouldn't mind going through them with me?" At least then you won't need to actually TELL her your worries.

Oh, I don't mind her checking anything down there. Have been through plenty in the past few years with the treatment. My problem is if I am asked how I am by others not too close to me, I'll just say fine, even though I might be depressed, stressed, sad, in agony, etc.

All will be fine tomorrow. I just need to find our where the clinic is, as there is no address or instructions on the letter!

Right, can't work today - I am so tired and it is not even 9.30am!!!!! I really feel like my head is going to hit the desk and that will be it. I have a pile of drawings to mark up, make a few list from them, etc - but all I can think about is how to keep my eyes open!!!!! My back was aching all night, I tried the folded towel under my back/waist, it seemed to make it a bit more comfortable. But, I got a few shooting pains down the front as well tonight as I was turning in bed - that can't be a good sign.

I called the number in the letter for the appointment and it is in the local hospital, Maternity Ward. Why wouldn't they just put that in the letter????

Gin I too am suffering from lower back and pelvis pain and have found that placing one of those microwave wheatbag hot water bottle things on the worst area when I go to bed helps loads. Also I've had recommendations to sleep with a pillow between my legs as that apparently helps. unfortunately I fidget too much and it never stays in place for long!

I am going to try the pillow tonight. I was to tired to go and look for spare one last night... However, I too move around a lot during the night, so I think it just might annoy me more than help! But I'll give it a try. I was worried about using the hot water bottle, as too much heat is not good, I was told.

  • I have been suffering with lower back pain for the last few weeks too, I did get the OH to give me a massage last week but baby just went mental and I couldnt stop giggling so not really all that relaxing :o

I have a new chair on order at work so am hoping that will help as I am at my desk almost all day.

A hot water bottle should be ok as it cools down quite quickly, its things liek hot tubs that are kept at a fairly hot temperature that can cause problems as they don't cool down so can be quite effective at increasing your core temperature.

Rebekah, I can also feel baby moving already! I have done since 15 weeks!
  • Hi Rebekah, yes I have been feeling baby move on and off from about 15 weeks (I will be 18 tomorrow already - time really does fly!!) It is a lot more frequent now, almost every day :D I even thought I could feel it through my tummy when I put my hand firmly on it last night so shouldn't be too long till my OH can feel it. How are you getting on? I was so pleased to see you got your BFP xx
