Congrats Happydays, can't wait to get to where you are, it feels a lifetime away!

Finally finally have my booking appointment sorted for next Tuesday, was getting worried it might never happen, midwife sounded really lovely on the phone, looking forward to it all feeling a bit more real.

Just a wee update on my sisters wedding situation, told her and she was great, really understanding and we're going to just hold off looking for dress etc until we know everything is going to plan, and much nearer the time, but I absolutely want to keep involved in all the planning, as long as she doesn't want to do anything too exerting for the hen!

Hope everyone's feeling OK, I suspect I have a UTI as I have a weird feeling in my back and sides and my bladder feels constantly full and just weird, can't think of another way to explain it sorry! So might have to get that checked out.

    Hi Amymo
Really happy all sorted with your sister - will be a special year for your family next year
Just think of all the photos you can take of the drunks at the hen do:rotfl:
    Hope your UTI clears up

Thanks glimmer, I really appreciate it, I don't knw what I'd do without this forum, probably worry myself silly about things!
  • Hi everyone :)

I'm a long-time lurker on the boards, but have finally pulled my finger out and registered! I found out yesterday morning that OH and I are expecting our first baby.

I think I'm about 5 weeks and 3 days gone. I've re-tested four times now, it hasnt sunk in yet that it is real! :rotfl:

I've registered to have somewhere to talk about this stuff - its already getting really hard not to tell anyone
  • Congratulations happydays, I can't wait to be where you are! Wishing you all the best for the next 6 months.

Amymo - hope you feel better soon, get on the cranberry juice just in case? :)

Welcome Zantetsuken *waves* I'm 5 weeks today, how are you feeling? It's so hard not to tell people! I told the folks at the weekend, and made my mum cry (in a good way!), but otherwise it's a secret until the scan. I feel that I may have to let my boss know in the next few weeks though since I'm already feeling sick! x
  • Zantetsuken - I should also have said CONGRATULATIONS!

hi all, i needed some advice please. i posted on hear before and it helped. well these two embrios were put back in and daughter inlaw lost some blood, was told was normal with ivf. she rested and had a blood test after 2 days that went up from 85 too 287. she was being sick, tired, you name it. last wed she lost 3 large brown clots like old blood, next morning another one. after that there was no heavy bleeding or pain? they went for scan yest and there was nothing there, preg test neg. worse of all i was told via a text. ok they are broken hearted and so am i. i cried buckets last night. im so daft i won a moses basket and steam steralizer on ebay cuz i so much wanted to be a nana, i dread picking them up. my son text me and said im hurting so much mom i dont know what to do with myself. the tears came again. she as three children and was steralized, hence the ivf. what do we say to them? please help...

All you can say to them is how sorry you are. I know you are devastated but they will be more so, and you need to be stronger than them so they can lean on you.

I've had two miscarriages at 6 weeks (well, the last one baby died at 6 weeks but didn't actually miscarry till 10 weeks) and it is a really common time to lose babies because it is a crucial time in their development, when they tip from potential life to real life with a heartbeat.

IT is so, so hard, and I know you are finding it extra hard because IVF has its own difficulties, so huge hugs to you as well.

I'm sure you realise this now, but 6 weeks is far too early to buy things, but put them away and maybe one day there will be a baby to use them. If it's really too hard to collect them could you contact the seller and explain what's happened? They may agree to refund you and relist, or let you collect at a later date when you feel more able. Or could you get a friend to collect them for you so you don;t have to see them?

I know you are hurting a lot but when you talk to your son and daughter in law please don't make it about yourself, focus on them and share your pain with one of your friends. Your son has enough on his plate without trying to support you too. I mean this kindly.

There is a miscarriage support thread on here you may find helpful, it's on this board so you can search for it or scroll through till you find it.
