Hi snoopytweety, I'm exactly the same as you when sneezing and coughing!! If i sneeze or cough hard my belly, right at the bottom really hurts for a moment or two, almost like my stomach muscles have gone REALLY weak! I too have to hold my stomach before i think bout sneezing to prevent what feeling like my muscles are going to give!! Been worring about if for a couple of weeks but I'm kinda glad i'm not the only one having that issue!!
Gops xx
ETA: glad your appt went well emsbet. Bit of a pain being put back again, but good news sir alex is ok xx
Well phew - was a little worried something was wrong, and crikey if the sneeze comes out of nowhere it can be shockingly painful!
Glad I am not the only one though - and a little more reassured that it is infact normal - roll on 12 weeks!!!! 2 weeks and 3 days and counting! x xMarried the Man of my dreams 30/08/2008Baby No.1 arrived 04/04/2012, gorgeous little girl after 4 years of fertility issues!!:j:T0 -

Hi everyone, just wondering if anyone else gets sort of tugging sensations at the bottom of their bellies - it's not painful, just a weird feeling. It isn't even a complaint - I just wondered if I was normal? lol. (I doubt it though). Feeling good this week - have been soooooo shattered up until now, this completely overwhelming need to be asleep but then actually getting to sleep is a problem, had a few good nights sleep and I feel like a different person. I am 9 + 4, scan is two weeks on Thursday and I simply cannot wait.
Also - I am a very loud, violent sneezer - my belly does not like it, and it hurts like hell if I get caught off guard and sneeze and am not holding myself firmly - does anyone else get this too?
Sorry for all the questions lol. x x
I am the same with sneezing, sometimes I get really sharp pains on my left hand side. I haven't had any tugging or stretching sensations since about week 5 (now 8+6) which does worry me a little if I'm honest, but I guess as I am still feeling very nauseous pretty much all day that everything is going ok???0 -

I've had the sharp pain on sneezing too, still get it now if I get caught off guard and am 23 weeks! Doesn't seem to cause Pip any problems though, am still getting kicked and prodded on a regular basis... I just put it down to the muscles being a bit weak from being stretched over the last few months!
Seems pretty normal to me!:j Debt Free 27.07.2011!! :j0 -
snoopytweety wrote: »Emsbet - this is probably a stupid question, but how do they change your dates without a scan - I havn't had my scan yet - but will be gutted if they put my dates back lol. I had a very regular as clockwork cycle - 28 days, as was ttc for 4 years, so knew every movement of my cycle down to the day I ovulated - could they change my date? This pregnancy game can be very confusing, glad Sir Alex is ok, DH likes your bumps name, as we too are big fans!! x
Guinea pigs are called Eric and Ryan - cats are called Fergie and Becks!!!!
They have put me back based on the scan I had last week. As it was an emergency scan I didn't get given the results until today.

That is so scary that baby can die without an symptoms. Were you still feeling sick, sore boobs etc. Sorry to ask questions, please dont feel like you have to answer if it is too much to talk about it I just didn't know that could happen. Hope your scan shows a happy healthy baby x
It's called a missed miscarriage. Sometimes you start to miscarry naturally like I did (I had a scan because I was bleeding) and sometimes you get to your 12 week scan before you find out. Then you choose between seeing if your body will miscarry naturally (often it will once you know what's happened) or if you want a procedure to remove the baby and womb contents.
I have never had many symptoms when pregnant, this is the first time I've felt sick when pregnant, and my boobs didn;t feel sore with my missed miscarriage because I am breastfeeding DD and that seems to stop me from getting sore boobs (I had sore boobs with first two pregnancies).
I think some women do continue to have symptoms - a friend had a missed miscarriage a few weeks before mine, and she had all her symptoms.
It is scary, but then around a quarter of all pregnancies end in miscarriage, most of which will be early miscarriages (before 12 weeks) so it's not uncommon.
There is nothing you can do to cause or prevent it, except maybe take folic acid (both my miscarriages I started taking it late, once I found out I was PG instead of while TTC) because folic acid helps the baby in its early development. Six weeks is a crucial time because that is when it goes from potential life to actual life, in terms of a heartbeat and the spine 'zipping up'.
If you google miscarriage and missed miscarriage you will get a lot of information, but don't scare yourself!flutterby_lil wrote: »Sorry to hear of your recent mc skintchick. I too had a missed miscarriage and didn't find out until i went for my scan, devestated wasn't the word. The baby had stopped growing at 6 weeks and by 12 weeks i still hadn't miscarried naturally. I had to have a D&C. That was before my last DS, with him the scanned me early but this time they wouldn't.
Good luck. When did you say the scan was?

I like the idea of being at home and a water birth. Any articles I read seem to have really polarized opinions e.g. having a home birth is tantamount to child abuse or alternatively it's a really amazing experience.
I would never have considered my first birth happening anywhere but in hospital but I'm feeling, I don't know, more willing to consider a home birth this time round.
What are peoples thoughts?

I had one with DD and it amazing. I'd definitely have one again, it was just brilliant. My story is on the birth stories thread if you want to read it. I didn;t have a water birth as I wanted to be on dry land, but I had a very active birth and delivered in a high squat. You can read up on it on www.homebirth.org.uk and they have a Yahoo chat group too where you can ask questions.
I felt more able to do what I wanted and say what I wanted than I would have felt in hospital, I loved that I didn;t have to go anywhere at any point, and that we all went upstairs afterwards and slept together in our own bed - it was really special.
I did have a doula though, to give me some continuity of care. DD was breech until 37 weeks so I nearly ended up with a private midwife to ensure I got my home birth. Luckily she turned as that would have been 3k!
You can always go to a midwife unit where it's a cross between the two.:cool: DFW Nerd Club member 023...DFD 9.2.2007 :cool::heartpuls married 21 6 08 :A Angel babies' birth dates 3.10.08 * 4.3.11 * 11.11.11 * 17.3.12 * 2.7.12 :heart2: My live baby's birth date 22 7 09 :heart2: I'm due another baby at the end of July 2014! :j

Thanks ladies for all advice and I'm hoping to wait until the xmas sales. I'm not too worries about the cost it was the the fact I had no idea what is actually needed, after spending 4 years TTC i hadnt let myself get as far as baby actually entering our house. does anyone know what to expect at a 6 week scan. xxMaking small changes, hoping they will last....0

At a six week scan you will see the yolk sac and baby will look kind of like a little fish. You should also be able to see the flicker of the heartbeat. I'll see if I can post my scan pic from mine
