Mozzy can you tell me how much notice you had from recieving your letter to the appointment? Also if you are allowed to bring more than 1 person into the scan?

    Hi Lucy

I received the letter just after I was 9 weeks, which was around 3 weeks ago. You can do what I did, and phone the maternity unit of Kingston Hospital just to make sure your form has been received, and you have been accepted. I also got my gp to do a follow up call to chase it.

Lucy, hope you are feeling better soon. ((((((((Hugs))))))))) to you and anyone else who feels in need of them!

I'm still waiting for my scan appointment, 11+4 now! Still, if the hospital received their reminder from the midwife by post on Monday, I might get a letter today.... fingers crossed. I'm hoping to also hear from the physio soon, as trying to sleep on my side just seems to lock up the muscles in my upper back, and I got a referral for that when I booked in. Apparently I get some priority for being pregnant, but given the NHS, that might mean I'm still waiting 6 months :)

My booking in was just under an hour, at the doctors surgery. I had an assistant and not the midwife, and she rattled through the forms at top speed, didn't bother with BMI, and spent some time telling me how boring it all was! Still, I should get to see the midwife next time - not that I've been booked in for any follow up appointments yet either, I assume they will arrive by letter at some point.

Hi guys thanx for all the support :)

had my 1st midwife appoint today and she was lovely went through everything from where do i want to give birth to downs tests etc

Asked her about my bad cramps and she said they are fine :) but if they get bad to ring GP and they will get me in the early pregnancy unit.

My EDD is 4th march 2012 so i was out by a few days!!

She phoned straight through to the scanning department at local hosp and got my appoint for my 1st scan on the 22nd Aug i cant wait lol they also going to do another scan on the same day to check for downs and spina biffida!

Get to see her again in 7 weeks and then she said she will listen to the heart beat as they have the machines at my surgery :)

Hope every 1 else is good xx

I know the feeling I waited 6 weeks for my booking in appt and got that and my scan with 4 days

On another note, decided to go out for a brisk walk, I'm so unfit, I'm practically sweating, probably doesn't help that I stopped for a Starbucks on route :o

Ah sorry Lucy, hope it goes ok.
Re the panic attacks, i've always suffered with them, and my midwife advised me that any situation that is going to make me feel anxious or stressed, avoid it. Simple as that. But if you suffer from panic attacks when they come on at any given time and not just in a certain situation, just make sure you breathe through them and relax.
