Morning, glad your scan went well Amanda!

I'll join everyone on the grumpy day I think. Had a headache last night and went to bed around 8, woke up at 6.30 after lots of odd dreams, and am still feeling really tired. At least the headache has gone!

Does it include 17 year old children?:o

Morning ladies, didnt get a great night's sleep..woke up around 3am wanting a boiled egg and salad cream sandwich:rotfl:

I think a 17 year old would be allowed - but we were only allowed one person in the room! Unless your 17yo needs a creche place?:)

I had my GP appointment yesterday, all appears OK except my BP which was elevated.

Not too surprised as I have had high BP on occasions before and both parents had/have it. The Dr said I could expect to be put on some medication for it for the duration of my pregnancy at some point. She wants to keep a close eye on it.

I have to go back next Thursday for my booking in appointment with the MW :)

I told my manager today, seeing as I was going to need some time away from my desk ... quite a lot of time as I live almost an hour away from where I work and the MW appointment is at lunchtime  so a morning off for me followed by a mad afternoon trying to catchup.

Also got asked where I wanted to give birth, was given the choice of Watford General or Stoke Mandeville. I chose SM as I loathe Watford and don't fancy trying to get there in horrible traffic if Elvis decides to make an appearance during morning/afternoon traffic times.

My letter said I was only allowed one 'chaperone' as there is limited space in the scan rooms.

I'm not having a grumpy day but I am suffering really badly with hayfever today! I literally woke up sneezing at 6am and it's only really calmed down in the last hour or so. My nose is red and sore from blowing it so much and all itchy :(

Apprently there's a new hayfever nasal spray that Boots do called prevalin that is safe for pregnant women to use as it doesn't have any antihistamines or steroids in so am off to see if I can get some of that!

    Afternoon ladies,
I'm home from work again after my trip to the doc's saw me get sent to the hospital. Ketones are starting to show in my urine so I had to be put on a drip :(

Came away with some new medication cyclizine, hopefully they will do the trick.

Just off for another nap, you'd think with all this sleep I wouldn't look so tired.

    Hi everyone,

Not long had my positive test (and 2nd and 3rd to be sure!) and it's not really sunk in yet! It's my first and we hadn't been trying too long, and I'm feeling excited and worried at the same time.

I haven't had too many problems yet, except being tired constantly and some abdominal twinges which are worst at night. My main issues are hayfever, the Provalin from Boots has helped though if anyone else is thinking of trying it, and my IBS as I stopped taking the medicine for that as it says not to take it!

I've got my first GP appointment this Friday, by which time I should be 6 weeks (I think), so I'm hoping I'll come out of that knowing a bit more!

Hope you had an ok nights sleep in the end Amanda. Not a good nights sleep here. I feel a grumpy day coming on!

Does your letter about your 12 week scan say you can bring kids? My letter was very specific and said only one person could come in and that there were no facilities for children and asked me to leave them at home (not that I have any yet!). It said the sonographer?? needed to concentrate and there would be no exceptions. However, every hospital is different so yours might let you!

I didn't :( but hey ho have managed to stay awake this morning I missed two of my anti sickness tablets yesterday and today the dreaded M/S has reared its ugly head ! God I wish I was 14wks already :rotfl:

My letter doesn't say anything about not taking the kids so am asuming that means I can :D I will regardless I doubt they can argue once you're there  thats a bit naughty isn't it lol

    Hugs floatylight,

The sickness is awful I've had the cyclizine also and hate to be the bearer of bad news but it didn't work for me :( everyone is different though so fingers crossed it works for you I'm on stemetil and from experience I will be until 14wks which is when this stopped last time its still pretty active at the min I missed two tablets yesterday and sickness appeared first thing this morning so have now been sick 3x in the three weeks I've taken these tablets but so much better than before when it was up to 10x daily and beyond somedays :eek:

When I went for my scan the room was pretty small but there was 2 chairs. There was a young girl there and she had what I'd presume to be her boyfriend and her mum, so I think you'd be okay with one more.
