    Lucy,
Peaches... yummmmmmmmm . The way i figured in the end, was just go with what you can manage/fancy, and dont get stressed if its the same thing every meal for 2 weeks, or if it is unhealthy, or wierd. If you are feeling bad, then just getting something in you is better than nowt, and from my experience, forcing something that you dont really want but feel you should have, is prob worse in the long run as it puts you off even more!
Peaches are great, eat all the fruit you fancy (plus it fends off the dreaded constipation!). And if you decide that all you fancy are crisps, or (as my desires are telling me i want at the mo), a big plate of chip shop chips covered in vinegar (drools), then go for it, and you can make up for it later when you feel like it!

added myself :) I went to the docs this morn as I was told to take a sample and she would refer me. She didnt even ask for the sample so I had the tube of wee in my bag for nowt!!

She gave me some folic acid tablets and said the Midwife will contact me after about 8 weeks.

Oh...and she said I cant eat some cheeses or pate. I already knew that lol, she was a little useless tbh! :)

Wow - a busy day on the thread!

About the crunches - my MW asked me to stop doing them (along with press ups, sit ups and a few other moves). She didn't say exactly why but I think it is because I wouldn't have been able to hold a conversation whilst doing them (the NHS booklet she gave me said that as a general rule for deciding if something was strenuous!).

With the other joys of pregnancy, I am definitely a member of the C club at the moment! My stomach is turning and the thought of the dried fruit but i'm getting a bit desperate and it does work!

Kegels - the booklet says (prepare yourself!) "close up your back passage as if trying to prevent a bowel movement. At the same time draw in your V as if gripping a tampon and trying to stop the flow of urine. First do this quickly, tightening and releasing straightaway then slowly, holding as long as you can (try to count to 10). Try to do 3 sets of 8 per day"

Had a 3 hour nap earlier, it's terrible how sleepy I am. Kegel exercises make me feel really agitated when I do them and I have no idea why :( I do try though.

I slept all morning this morning after being unable to get to sleep last night ! Here I am still wide awake after being dead on my feet all day :( am getting annoyed now that I can't sleep and I'm getting urges to stand and do my ironing but my pelvis is killing so think I prob won't GRRRRRR am so tired I know I am but just can't sleep!!!!!!

Can anyone tell I'm grumpy today :rotfl: !!

I have hired a doppler machine so we can listen into baby's heartbeat have actually had it a fortnight but it says on the instructions that its not easy to hear until between 10 - 12 wks. My friend was trying to get me to use it last week when we were having that scare but I refused I didn't get it for when I am worried and I knew that if I tried and couldn't hear I would've freaked out !! Git it from here http://www.anawiz.com/acatalog/Fetal_Doppler_uk.html in case anyone is interested my mum thinks I shouldn't have got it I'm an idiot blah blah blah she thinks it will stress me out I have only decided to use it when I am happy and comfortable and wouldnt use if I had any fears though would be checked out proerly if that was the case ! Anyone got any opinions either way ?

Have tried tonight though and picked it up immediately uterus is out of my pelvic bone and up by my tummy tuck scar as baby was sitting right there is a lovely sound made me v. happy :D I kind of feel were reaching a milestone now were 11wks and 4 days ooops 5 days now its after midnight according to the scan from yesterday (the emergency NHS one!!) and I am starting to feel a little more relaxed, my EDD was moved forward to 28th Jan yesterday which is the anniversary of my dear Nana's death ! Our baby won't be born that day but to me it's a sign that she is looking out for us and I'm taking some comfort in it :)

Also keep thinking what the clairvoyant told me the day after I found out I was pg she said "this baby is here to stay ! Not going anywhere and will be a baby girl, lots of females in the spirit world are looking out for you :) I'm taking comfort from this and hoping and praying were good

Its my 12wk scan next thursday am thinking of taking my two DS to see and "meet" their baby brother or sister anyone else taking siblings ? DS1 (8) would love to come am not sure on DS2 though he's only 4 not sure if it will confuse him just wondered what those of you who already have kids are doing ? I'm pretty sure beany will be ok at the scan all reports so far show a nice healthy pregnancy or I wouldn't be even thinking of taking them out of fear lol

Anyway thats enough of my gibberish I've been banging on about random stuff for long enough now lol

Hope you're all good and the sickies aren't too sick

    xx

Hope you had an ok nights sleep in the end Amanda. Not a good nights sleep here. I feel a grumpy day coming on!

Does your letter about your 12 week scan say you can bring kids? My letter was very specific and said only one person could come in and that there were no facilities for children and asked me to leave them at home (not that I have any yet!). It said the sonographer?? needed to concentrate and there would be no exceptions. However, every hospital is different so yours might let you!
