morning,
Hope everyone slept ok, I'm up far too early for someone who didnt go to sleep til late, oh well gives me more time to write my assignments I suppose! Is there any scans today I cant remember? good luck if so, only 5 whole days to go until mine!!! It is taking a lifetime.
Think I may get the doppler out and reassure myself in a minute, have painted a little henna heart on my tummy where I found the heart beat, as it took me so long to find it!0 -
hey blue monkey,
just looked at the coats, i really like them both, and now am going tohave to look for myself!! I didnt realise asos did maternity stuff!!!!! not a good move!
Im silly and didnt want to jinx anything, so I havent bought anything, but there are lots of people on here who have and have needed to. How long you will wear it depends on how long it takes you to lose the weight I guess hun. I dont know if you will look silly, i dont know how big these coat look, i think the navy one might be more roomy than the brown one on first look. Sorry not the best advice, I'm sure someone with better experience of these things will be along shortly!

hey everyone i am stuggling really bad with food again. i cant stand the smell of tea it makes me gag! I have thrown the cheese away as although it is in a sealed bag in the fridge i can smell it everytime i open the fridge door!
Today i have eaten. 10 teaspoons of rice crispies and milk then a wave of feeling sick came over me. 1 cracker just plain. a tin of chicken and potatoe soup, 2 more crackers and about half a tin of tomatoe soup cant stomach the rest. I have hardly drunk a thing water is making my stomach swirl....
i used to overeat by a long way and this seems ridiculous. i struggled out of bed at 8.00am this morning an hour later then i normally get up. i feel asleep on the sofa from 4pm- 6.30pm and could easily go back to sleep now. i am sure i am not eating enough to power myself for the whole day but i just cant stomach any more.
I force feed myself what i do it. i nibble at everything a mouthful of food makes me gag! This is getting a bit to much
I know how you feel, and I've felt that it is getting a bit too much too. I just keep thinking (and hoping!) that it is only for a short period of time and the end result will be worth it. Also I try to remind myself that people have gone through worse and survived, although that just makes me feel like a cry baby wimp! It seems to have become my sole focus though and all that I think and talk about. Although when you feel sick you pretty much can't think of anything else.
I have to have very small mouthfuls as a mouthful of food makes me gag. I think the most concerning thing would be that your not drinking. I struggle with water if I drink 2 or 3 mouthfuls in one go, then I feel like it is sloshing in my stomach. Could you try drinking it one sip at a time? Just small sips throughout the day is better than nothing, even if it is just enough to wet your mouth.
I had a slightly better day yesterday and managed some porridge for breakfast at 7.30, a slice of bread at 9, another slice at 11. I told my DH that I thought I could eat some turnip, so he brought me 4 home on his lunch break. I cooked one and ate that mashed with gravy. For tea I had 2 oven baked fish cakes, then I had a small slice of chocolate cake and cream at 7ish, then about 9 I had some special K. Reading that back I am quite pleased with myself as I managed to eat quite a lot :j It's not always healthy, but it is what I think I can stomach at that very moment in time. The key is that I'm not eating full meals. If I was presented with a plate full of food I think I'd cry.
I always feel more nauseous after eating so I'm trying to do little and often rather than big meals. I've also found that because what I've eaten the previous day has made me feel nauseous then I can't eat it again. Like the fish cakes I had last night kept repeating on me all night and made me feel sick, just the thought of eating them today makes me want to hurl. Pretty soon I'm going to run out of food that I can eat  and foods I used to love turn my stomach at the moment.
Blue monkey, I'm 9+3 and I've had no choice but to buy some maternity pants from ebay. Both of those coats look nice and it sounds like you will get good wear out of them. I don't see what difference waiting until 12 weeks will make, other than your coats may no longer be in the sale and you'll have to pay full price.0 -
calling all those who have experience with dopplers, I am starting to worry that I am listening to my own heart beat through a pulse or something in my stomach as the heart beat doesnt seem to be very quick, am starting to panic a bit that I cant actually hear the babys heartbeat at alll. Help!0

Count teh number of beats in a minute then put the doppler on your heart and then count the number of beats.
If the beats are pretty much the same you prob getting your own heartbeat...
Wife is 10+5 dating scan is just over a week away, cant wait. She going for blood tests today (to help with nuchal).
My wife seems to be in the top 'x%' of symptons gained from pregnancy.
She has gone up two bra cup sizes from B/C to an E cup, and her belly has swelled. Everyone thinks she is 4-5 months when shes barely 3 lol. I am rubbing her down with bio oil every night, her belly definately feels 'hard' not squishy like 'fat'.
She swore she could feel something 'tickling' her where baby was.
She eating fine, and MS seems to be getting a bit less, altho still need to bring her breakfast in bed to start her day. She also using pregnancy sickness bands.0 -
Afternoon ladies
I had my first appointment with the midwife this morning, all went ok apart from my blood pressure (always is an issue). So I'm having to go back weekly to have my bp checked for the time being to see if things settle down on my new meds or not.
I've got a different midwife this time around, but she seems lovelyI've been given more info this time aswell, they've changed quite a few things in the past 3 years since i had Elliot.
Just need to wait for scan date to come through nowonly 4 weeks(ish) to go!

Blue monkey I prefer number 2, and I'd get it now. It's cheap because the weather here is warm so go for it!
I've got a massive thick hoodie of OH's that I wear :rotfl: and I have a gorgeous purple military (non maternity) coat from next which I intend to have dry cleaned and wear home from hospital after baby is born, so I best not get any fatter (fortunately I bought an 18 in a fit of size paranoia - and it's hooge)Mum of several with a twisted sense of humour and a laundry obsession:o

Hello everyone
I'm new here, and 6 weeks pregnant today. All a bit of a shock, unplanned, but not unwanted! Considering I have PCOS its an even bigger shock as I thought it might not even be possible.
We're over the moon, especially as when I walked out of the bathroom holding the (2nd!) positive test he was down on one knee with a ring in his hand asking me to marry him! Talk about a life changing evening. We're got it all in the wrong order but we're very happy.
I have my first midwife appointment on 31 May - going to be a long 3 weeks!!
