I've been eating a lot of cold snacks, it seems like hot meals is what's making me feel most ill, OH made me a lovely pie and chips the other night and I had to give it to him to eat as I couldn't stomach it :( I've been getting through a lot of chicken soup and cup-a-soups though, with a couple of slices of bread but other than that it's all crappy junk food  Had my first proper instance of MS today, at work unfortunately :( Thought I could get away with sneaking upstairs for a couple of minutes but my manager came looking for me and shouted me over the tannoy so I didn't get away with it! We usually have to ask to go to the loo as well so she looked quite disapproving when I told her I'd just 'nipped up' :naughty:
D'you know, in 900 years of space and time, I've never met anyone who wasn't important

I have my first midwife appointment on Friday, does anyone know what to expect on the first visit?

LMAO, pigpen you sound like my sort of girl! Im a bit funny with people am a bit of a recluse when OH is away sometimes just spend whole weekends by myself because I dont want to see anyone!! But people just annoy me! And I have the attention span of a two year old, think if I were still at school I would be somewhere on the autistic spectrum/aspergers!!! Scary thought really.

I haven't been out anywhere other than tesco and school runs in maybe 18 months.. I have 3 friends, 2 live over 100 miles away.. I like them there. I have been taking my children to the same school for 17 years and I don't speak to anyone.

I know I am on the autistic spectrum, I hate new places and really sruggled with going to OH's parents.. they live 100 miles away and I hate it.. I just want to come home by the time we hit the M62.. I am such a fairy.

I find people make me really aggressive and irritable and even if I try to be nice I come across as a b!tch because I can't make myself enjoy being sociable. I cannot cope at all with people in my house.. I just want them to leave, I want to go sit upstairs away from them until they go.. sometimes I do.

I come across as really harsh and sometimes callous, but I'm really not I just can't do flowery and fluffy.. things are as they are.. I don't ever imply anything or try to manipulate.. I say it as it is, there can never be a misunderstanding lol. I also only answer direct questions.. if OH had said to me 'are you pregnant?' .. I would have told him sooner but he said 'should I be worried about you being this tired?' .. I said no.. he didn't need to be worried but it didn't tell him anything..

Now you see why I am online 24/7 :o and you probably knowas much about me as my mother does now lol

omg I didnt have my wee tested, id didnt even haave to do one, nor my bp taken pigpen, think they might have been slacking that day.

Pigpen I would say you are somewhat further along the spectrum than me, but i can definitely get where you're coming from, but i admire you for your forthrightness, i am one of those that doesnt like to upset and always beats around the bush and finds it hard to say no! Mind you sometimes when people are talking to me, usually my mother or sister! I just shut off and dont listen becuase i just cant be bothered anymore and Im bored. I then make an excuse and go home!! i am a bit sociable but I never go on work nights out if i can help it as I just sit and dont say anything, but if im with a group of proper friends, of which unfortunately i dont have many, im ok. but new people i talk too fast and get really excited, like a child would!! Oh dear am not painting the best picture am I, Im lovely I promise.

I'm lovely too.. if I talk to you.. normally I don't I just look at people blankly.. I have no interest in them. I like cats.

Do you feel better knowing there are people that are freakier than you? lol

my mother is possibly worse than me.. though.. I didn't look at my dad for weeks after he shaved his beard off..

lol when i was a kid my grandad shaved his beard off and i hated it so much i wouldnt talk to him i used to hide behind the sofa. My mother is a complete and utter fruitcake. not in the same way as me more in a bit tapped in the head sort of way!! very overly dramatic about everything, everything is a crisis etc etc.

    I like cats too

Hi all... Just wanted to get your thoughts on buying maternity clothes this early (I'm 9 weeks)...

Some of you may know that I'm currently living in Sydney, Australia and planning to move back to the UK in September when I'll be about 6 months pregnant. It's starting to get cold here (11 degrees on my way to work this morning) and I'm in desperate need of a coat. I've seen 2 lovely French Connection maternity coats on the ASOS website - both for sale. Clothes here in Australia are very expensive (ie about £200 for a coat) and I've not seen anywhere decent selling maternity clothes. So I could even get both for less than the price of 1 non-maternity coat here! Given that I'm heading from Aus-winter to UK-winter pretty much I figure I'll need a decent coat until at least March next year (baby due in Dec) and so these two could be my perfect solution! But here's my concerns:

    1. Will I look silly wearing a maternity coat before I start showing?
    2. Is it foolish/jinxing it to start buying maternity stuff now before my 12 week scan?
    3. How long after the birth do you reckon I'll wear maternity stuff for?
    4. Finally - which do you prefer, or should I just get both?!? Coat 1 here and Coat 2 here.

    I'm probably way overthinking this....
