WW, I hope your meeting's gone well. Whether or not your supervisor thinks you need a RA, it's the law that he provide you with one. You work in a school, is that right?
Thanks IamJen
I did get my risk assessment done and my manager apologised for the mix up as to whether I should have one. I managed to get most of my concerns down on paper. I work with adults with learning disabilities, mental health issues and challenging behaviour. I do a lot of lone working in the community and have to physically restrain some clients on my own.0 -
Hope things work out at work Wonder Womble!
Kettlefish - I originally had my due date as 27th Oct from my lmp but the baby was measuring 11+4 at the scan instead of 11+6. I don't mind as it's only 2 days. But I feel like I'm living in De Ja Vu!
So I am 12 weeks tomorrow! Yey!! And I got the letter this morning for my 20 week scan! It's on June 17th. And we will hopefully find out pink or blue!!! So exciting only 9 more weeks as I'm nearly 21 weeks when I have the scan lol xx0 -
Knock knock! Can I come and join please?
OH and I found out Friday last week that I'm pregnant and were totally freaked out. The whole of this week has been spent talking, crying, stressing, all sorts... We even considered a termination. But we calmed down and are now beginning to embrace it all and went to the doctors last night for our first appointment. Going by LMP I'm 6+3
We live in Australia (from the UK originally) at the moment and haven't needed to go to the doctors in the 14 months we've lived here, so we're having to get our head around the system here too! I mentioned that I'd had a real small amount of brown spotting and some AF type twinges, so the doctor has recommended that I go for an early scan. So I've got that on Wednesday when I'll be 7 weeks and need to get some blood tests done too _pale_ which I'm not very good at. Then the doc wants to see us again when those results are through and we'll talk about stuff and our options in more detail.
At the moment it all feels surreal, as we weren't specially TTC. Additionally, I'm waiting for a new job offer to come through this week; I'm going to tell them I'm pregnant more than anything because I need to understand my maternity eligibility, but also as I think it's the right thing to do... I'm also nervous about telling our parents as I think they will be over the moon, but also really sad because we're so far away . My best friend at home is pregnant too and due about 2 months before me, so I think she'll also be sad that we won't be there. (Is anyone else doing this miles away from friends and family?)
Anyway, all the best peeps :j0 -
Hi BlueMonkey, good to see you again, and I'm pleased to hear that you're both starting to get your head around being pg
Hope all goes well at your scan next week. I've got an early scan too, on Thursday. I think I'll be 6+5 then, so I going by LMP little Eugene the Bean is 6 weeks today :j
Just wondering does anyone know at what stage cravings appear? I don't have a craving as such, but just really love sour food and drinks at the mo. My mouth is watering just thinking about it and typing this. Yesterday I was in Asda drooling over lemon squash, when I had a sudden urge to buy some fizzy sour sweets. I ate them before I even got to the till :rotfl: I'm usually a sweet tooth lass, not sour!0 -

Oh poor you! What a roller coaster of emotions these first few days/weeks are, eh?
I think you just have to have faith that it *will* be okay. I just posted here not long ago about being far away from sisters, parents, friends and being bummed. My husband and I are post expats (America/Norway), so I can feel your pain somewhat.
We haven't told our folks yet, as I'm a bit superstitious about the 12 weeks rule (just 10 weeks today). I'm hopeful thought that between Royal Mail, Skype, email, digital cameras...we can keep everyone up to date and feel like we're not missing *too* much.
Hubby and I joke that at least we won't be expected to travel for Christmas this year.Blue_Monkey wrote: »Knock knock! Can I come and join please?

Well, I spent over 3 hours in the early pregnancy unit at Kings yesterday because I started bleeding on Thursday night. Cue the most awful night of my life, then waiting over 3 hours in a waiting room with kids running all over the place. Finally got a scan, which showed the baby is still there, and I saw the heartbeat! I have a bleed near the sac, so if it gets bigger I could still miscarry, but at the moment, things are looking good.HSBC Credit Card £608.69, HSBC Overdraft: £4123.67, HSBC Loan: £8,270.69

My Husband's family is in America so we can understand how you feel.
I just try to keep them included in some sense with pictures of bump and updates on how we are doing etc, mostly done via facebook. Hoping his mum can come visit when baby is here but not too sure if that is happening yet.
Congratulations:j0 -
