My husband is a teacher and I can't get a my first MW appt at a time when he can come with me. Does he need to be there with me?

Obviously when it's the scan he'll have told school and they'll have to let him come with me then, but I didn't think I needed him there at this appt.

Me again - butting in :o lol! - your OH doesn't need to be there
The midwife will prob weigh you/test your wee for protein and take your blood pressure - then ask you a whole lot of questions about your/family medical history so as long as you have a few basic details about your hubby you should be just fine ;)

Thanks everyone. I didn't think he did. I know his family history and we need to decide between us before hand about whether we want to down syndrome test. Obv if he was free he'd come.
My friend was saying that he doesn't need to go but that he should to 'share the experience' as it was important for couples, which made me feel really guilty.

It's just blood tests, wee, hight and weight measurements and question time isn't it?

We can read the packs of stuff when we are home together.

Hi another one jumping over from the other thread!

The booking in appointment is pretty boring to be honest. My OH didn't go and didn't miss anything. It was just a lot of form filling in, being told what I can/can't eat, checking urine, blood pressure etc. He came to the scan and that was obviously a lot more exciting!

You have a lot of appointments and some my OH has been too and some not and I don't think he has missed out.

Yes - I don't think your OH has missed out - the scans are the only appointments my OH has attended.

I was walking around asda and kept getting sharp pains in my abdomen. Bad enough to make me stop and keel over, they've eased off now. Got a tummy ache, hurts a bit to pee and got a pain in my bum (but it's in the bone if you get what I mean). Also got an ache in my vagina. If I wasn't bleeding I would think nothing of it.

Lucky I was wearing a pantyliner. The blood was brown with bits of bright red. I was wiping bright red for a few minutes, put a new pantyliner in and now it's just spotting.

I've got to pee in a jar and take it down to my appointment at 10 past 3... here's hoping it's something random. I've not had sex so that's not it.

All I can say is I had a bath this morning and used femfresh which I haven't used in this pregnancy. It's the only thing I've done differently.
