Hi ladies
Had my dating scan yesterday, all went well and was so relieved to find bubs was doing well and had a strong heartbeat. Was so surreal it was waving and kicking its little legs around but not being able to feel that felt strange.
I got put back a few days so am 12 +1 with due date 8th May feel like I have lost a week but being reassured yesterday made it worth while.
Sending sticky wishes to all of you and praying for healthy babies and happy mums too (and dads of course)

Niknok - I'd be pushing for an earlier appointment too, as you're going outside the EU and the scans/checks issue too. Can you speak to your local PALS about it?0

Not totally planned-more of a 'see what happens' thing but we are both really happy. Although I feel kind of terrified, it's our first baby and we are both quite immature and have been enjoying a resposibility-free life together for years so I'm so nervous and not sure how we will manage!
I guess i am only around 4 weeks gone and have tender boobs and sometimes cramoy feelings. Is this normal? Thanks in advance..also is their a list of abbreviation anywhere?like BFP?
Hello, congratulations and welcome Dippydooda (what a fab name!). Me and my OH are like you - although a few years older, we have been enjoying life, then thought of see what happens.....but that thought was only 3 weeks for us...!!!
Tender boobs and generally feeling a bit crappy is normal I think - I feel that way too. Not sure on abbreviations either - but I am working them out as I go along!
I am now seeing midwife at a more work friendly time next week - she was luuurvely on the phone - hope she is as lovely in person (i think you have to be lovely to be a midwife though - I have full respect for all the sights they must witness!!!). Still odd knowing that I am seeing a midwife......weird even....!!!:D0 -

Hi Dippydooda, we're in almost the same boat as well. 32, been living a fab life of travel, going out etc then thought we'd see what happened and got pregnant straight away.
I had some cramps and quite sore boobs in the first couple of weeks. Cramps have got much less but tiredness and nausea have arrived...0 -
hi pippa and ihateDida, thanks for your replies. The 'cramoy' in my first post was meant to be crampy! I feel like my tummy's in knots, could be nerves too! OH is really happy and chilled and I seem to be listing everything we need to worry about! I am really close to my mam so feel like I should tell her really soon, so may do another test tomorrow then tell her. Then I guess I make an app with my GP? I honestly don't know what the process is now! I haven't been taking folic acid :-/0

congrats dippy. I lurk here although I'm now 35 weeks
Start taking some folic acid, have a look online for the recommended doses. Other than that not much to do aside from get into the system (usually by visiting your GP, but ask if your midwives take direct referrals) and wait!

Hello, I'd like to tentatively join this thread again. I joined in August, but sadly the next day I had an early miscarriage. According to the date of my last period I'm now 6w5d, but I actually think I'm less than this. I'm doing my best to be positive but I can't help feeling anxious after what happened last time. I saw my GP this morning so it feels a bit more real and at least I'm on the system this time in case it all goes wrong again. At the moment I haven't told anyone apart from my OH, and it will be nice to share the fear and excitement with people in the same situation. Does anyone else think about pregnancy all the time? My productivity at work has plummeted since I found out as I can't seem to think about anything else!0

Hi EmilyB - welcome to the thread and congratulations!
My situation is quite similar to yours - I had a miscarriage at the end of August and am now pregnant again, 7w + 4d since the start of my miscarriage bleeding, but I think I'm actually closer to 6w +4d. I totally understand you feeling anxious and I am just taking it one day at a time.
I have to say it's harder to be detached now that symptoms are kicking in!
I've had really bad nausea all week (no actual sickness) and today and yesterday I've been so bloated I can hardly do up my trousers  So far I'm finding the following helpful for the nausea: dry cream crackers, hula hoops, ginger ale, ginger nut biscuits, and Sprite!! Very healthy! I'm also liking eating fruit though which is good.0 -

Cream crackers got me through my morning sickness - I used to eat 2 before I got out of bed in the morning, and kept a pot on my desk to nibble when I started getting hungry (which always triggered the sickness for me). I also ate a lot of cheese and biscuits, as I couldn't face big meals most of the timeLittle monkey born November 2012:jFroglet due March 20160
