Hi all. I'm 6 weeks today, which is when my mc was confirmed last month after bleeding from 5 weeks. So having made it this far this time with no problems that I'm aware of, I'm feeling a little more optimistic and confident about posting :) I have my first appointment with the mw in 2 weeks, so that's my next milestone to aim for.

Sorry to see you leave, any name :( Take care and I hope you're back here quickly when you're ready to try again.

Good news about the scan lazywife :) I hope the next 6 months go smoothly.

Mrsj, I had a couple of really nasty headaches when I was pg last time, and I also don't normally get them. Sorry I can't suggest anything to help, I just gave in and had 1 paracetamol tablet :o

Has anybody been getting bad headaches? I don't usually get headaches but today I feel like my whole head and half of my face is in a vice!

I've read it's ok to take paracetamol but am generally avoiding medication if I can to stay on the safe side.

I got dehydrated really easily in first trimester, I was constantly thirsty. Paracetamol is safe to take, so I'd personally have a big glass of squash/water and if headache still there in an hour take some pills :) all down to what you feel comfy with though.

Thanks ladies - a big glass of squash seems to have helped the headache for now, will take some paracetamol if it gets worse or just doesn't go away later this evening!

I had my appointment with th GP yesterday. They just asked whether I was taking folic acid and referred me to the hospital.

Does anyone know when the booking appointment is likely to be?

    Morning ladies :)

Sorry not been around lately. Been in hospital for the last 3 days. Luckily it wasn't to do with bean. They thought I had developed a blood clot on the lungs but after numerous test/scans i've been given the all clear!! Yippee!

Gutted that I didn't get a scan of bean though :( probably because there was nothing the matter, no bleeding or cramps.

Can't believe how quick the last 4 weeks have gone! Doctor said i am perfectly ok to fly at 11 +2 which is good news as I just can not wait for a break and 2 weeks away will be amazing.

The rush to hospital meant that i had to tell everyone, not the way i'd hoped to tell them but everyone is thrilled and excited.

Oops a rather long post there!

Mrsj28, i had THE worst headaches in the first 12 weeks. Most of it was because i was dehydrated, and needed to drink 4+ litres a day (it's stopped now in the second tri!) - but do drink some more and see if that helps

  • Any name - so sorry to hear your news, thinking of you.

Niknok - good to hear all's well with you and baby, long may it continue :-) where are you off to on your hollibobs?

Mrs(not)J and Bigbird its lovely to see you posting here again. I find it really comforting to see others pregnant again after a loss - I know how scary it is but its also so positive and happy.

Chonorla, sorry to hear you're still feeling so unwell- hope it'll ease soon. I can totally sympathise with those running for some privacy moments, I hate people watching while I'm sick - I never know whether to explain or just walk away!

Scan on Monday for me as midwife thinks I'll be 12 weeks then so so nervous and excited and scared and happy and terrified! I'm starting to believe we may just make it out of this with a baby of our own!

Hope you're all doing well x

One of my friends has just announced her pregnancy, due end of april... so tempting to shout 'me too'! Looking forward to scan on wednesday so we can have a due date and know when we'll be able to share our news.
Quite fed up at the moment of being green and exhausted, yet without the positives of being able to get excited and share the news. But counting our blessings still, we're pleased to have got this far!
Re headaches - one of m friends really suffered with them in early pregnancy and liked using Forehead - I think its a painkiller gel you put straight on your head for relief. She preferred that to tablets.
    Best wishes to all x
