  • Hi Everyone
I've not posted for a few weeks but I love reading the thread every day (think I'm a bit addicted :rotfl:)!

I'm 9 weeks today and finally got my booking appointment in the post for Monday 9am! :j It's all starting to seem a bit real now but I'm trying not to get excited until I have a scan and know everything's ok. :o

Quick question - How long does the booking appointment usually last andwhat happens?

    Thanks

Hi, Im 9+2, it's dragging so much isnt it!! My booking appt lasted about an houe. Just went through medical history, did some bloods, blood pressure and got my scan date. It was good to just feel I was getting somewhere though.
hi guys i'd like to join in with you please

i cant remember properly but i think its about half hour, they take all your detail inc previous pregnancies, take your bloods and give you some nformation and your notes folder that you take to your midwife appointments, a brief rundown of what appointments/timeline is gone through. that was in scotland, hope it helps and good luck

They do bloods for grouping and FBC, urine for infection and one they dip their dippy thing in, BP to make sure you aren't going to explode :p, talk a waffle about smoking/drinking/eating/etc, give you a pile of bumf and sometimes they sort the scan appt then but some you get through the post.. and book another appt for about 16 weeks..

    Nothing very interesting really.

But.. if you have any silly questions.. ask them.. they sometimes know the answer :p

My booking appointment was different as my midwife came to my house :) She went through the maternity notes, asked loads of questions about me and our OH, any problems we have, any family hereditary problems etc.

    I didn't get my blood taken/urine tested/weight taken until my 12 week scan :)

hi it usually lasts about 30-40 mins, they fill in loads of paperwork, talk through previous pregnancies, family history of certain ilnesses etc, they take some blood, weigh you and do blood pressure. Oh and take a urine sample with you as they send this off somewhere with your bloods :) HTH

Well I finally got my enemas well 3 out of the 6 anyways apparently there is a distribution problem at the manufacturer so had to get OH's gran to take me half way across town to get them, but they have worked yeahhhhhhhh it really hurt!!! but it was hurting more before i'm feeling a little better, but a bit funny, I feel weird just glad to have things moving :o I know I should be on the next thread but like this one to much might stay on here just til next week, if you'll still have me :rotfl:

Welcome to all the newbies and congrats :T

  • Has MSM been back since her scan this morning? Ive not have chance to check the thread. I hope she's okay.

OH has demanded the laptops are kept off this evening - he wants some "us" time. Ha - big woman!

We picked up Felix's headstone today. I like it, but Felix and Samuel are on different lines which I dont like. He has a double-barrelled surname and she wasn't sure it would fit on one line, but it did. Ho hum.

Puppy is being very annoying. OH went out and left the back door unlocked and he has decided he is buying a new car.....

Oooo, also viewed the house today. It is VERY tired inside, so we basically said "Do it up to look like next doors and we will pay what they pay and take it". So..ball is in their court. Its really not nice atm!

    Hope everyone is doing okay!

OOh RWB.. The house decor is nothing.. you wll end up paying more than if you do it yourself.. stripping manky paper and going wild with several gallon of emusion is wonderful fun.. You clear the house entirely.. roller on a stick for the ceiling and a shedload of white matt emulsion.. and magnolia or similar for the walls in EVERY room.. then a splash of wallpaper for the front room and the floor and you have a whole room done.. next your bedroom is done .. then the kitchen and the bathroom.. it takes no time in an empty house! I LOVE LOVE LOVE decorating! Put in a lower offer and use the extra money to do it up.. if it isn't structural it is a piece of cake!

  • Hi,

Had my scan, no heartbeat. measured 8weeks. Haven't decided on ERPC yet. Hospital were useless, leaving me with pg women all talking births & kicks!

Thanks for the fun & help, don't think I'll be back, too much hassle this baby malarky. DS is enough work for me!

Good luck, PigPen - copy and paste your post when you tell OH & PM me please! I'm following that story!
