    :hello: Hi all,

11+5 today and looking forward (though a bit nervous too) to my scan on Thursday. I won't be finding out what I'm having - we want a surprise - just hope everything's ok :o

I have to fight my way into Cheltenham though for it - avoiding Gold Cup racing traffic & St Patricks Day events! Might have to leave home a lot earlier than planned, lol. I'm going to book my 16 week appointment with my lovely midwife straight after as we're going to Cyprus for two weeks not long after - hopefully that'll mean my 20 week scan will come around quickly! :j

Hope you're all well - my MS has reduced to every monday morning & once at the weekend, lol. Oh and because my bloating has gone down (hurray) my new over the bump maternity jeans no longer fit, lol!

    hello everyone.

We're planning on going on holiday this summer, the last one before bean arrives. Basically my husbands family are going to San Francisco and said if we want to come we only need to pay for flights.
I have worked out that I will be 28 weeks on the day we fly out and 29wk 3d when we fly back.

The airline policy is fine about me flying but I'm a bit concerned as to whether I should go. What do you all think?

SVsandy - personally I would leave it to last minute as possible & then ask your midwife to do you a letter - I thought most airlines limit was 28 weeks but I must be wrong.

Maybe too personal a question but has anyone else's 'wee' gone cloudy? I'm a bit worried... :o

    The airline policy says .......
A woman with a normal pregnancy and no previous history of premature labour may travel up to and including her 36th week

Wow, that's brave - 36 weeks! Considering my colleague had her first baby 3 weeks early I'm not sure I'd want to take the risk, lol. Anyhoo, I guess have a chat with your midwife & see what she says now? Guess 28/29 weeks doesn't sound too near the mark does it compared to that :rotfl:

i'd fly. enjoy the holiday. last one before you have to take half a suitcase with you where ever you go,lol. be a nice chance to relax and enjoy the weather.

but it all depends on how you feel as a person. Buy the tickets and maybe take out insurance incase u don't feel like it at the time.

I think I'll give the MW a call today but also get her or Doc to write a letter for me just before we go confirming that I won't be due until 14th October (12/11 weeks later)
Luckily step-MIL is medically trained so if anything happens whilst we're out there, my insurance will cover me, but she can physically help. She just won't be on the plane journeys with me.
  • Hi guys, sorry to bring the mood down, has anyone ever had a 'red wipe' at under 12 weeks and not mc ?

I had with no1 at 20weeks and was OK, but 10 weeks I'm guessin more serious? Rang MW, and she's getting EPU to ring me back.

Can deal with it if I know whats going on, they said unlikely to scan me today :(

Welcome Glitter and congratulations! My estimated date is 13 November, so pretty close. :)

pigpen, I must agree with those who said to talk about the relationship issue before any baby stuff. If he's really wanting to leave, I can't imagine many scenarios where you'd be better with him sticking around. Yeah, it would be really hard, and suck sometimes, but you'd have a far better chance of happiness on your own, and maybe later with someone new, than with someone who is primarily in the relationship because of a sense of guilt. btw..is your OH from Scandinavia? (just curious, as my husband is Norwegian).

iluv, I know what you mean about the time dragging on some days. I don't think twelve weeks can come soon enough!

Today though, I actually got to "do something" and had a Dr. visit...yay! Got to ask a few questions and she said I could call and make an appt. with the midwife anytime. She mentioned that the "early scan" is usually from 9-11 weeks, but in the booklet/notes she gave me, it lists the normal dates as 11-14 weeks, so I'm not sure what's up with that. If it's not until 12 or 14 weeks, we're considering a real early scan (privately) about 8 weeks or so, just to have some feeling of security. It was a short visit, but now it seems sort of "official". My GP (who is very nice) was also happy and gleeful, so that was awesome too!

Okay, time for a quick rest before chores. I swear, I feel like I'm about a hundred. zzzzzz

We're supposed to be taking two trips this summer flying. One is my sister's wedding, which thankfully is right in the middle (should be about 17 weeks there/19 weeks back). The other is another wedding, for my husband's oldest friend. That is about 25/26 weeks there and back, so I think we'll still be ok, though my other half is already fretting about it. :D
