Congrats 2b, FYI my GP wanted a sample dropping off to confirm BFP but I never actually saw them, just MW/ sonographer so it appears another inconsistency in antenatal care! I think tho if they wanted one they would have asked on the phone.

I would just like to say hi. I have been lurking for a while, but decided to post now.

I am currently pregnant with our first child. We having been trying for six and a half years and after our 4th IVF attempt I am pleased to say it was successful.

I am 9 weeks pregnant today. I had an early scan last week at 7 weeks 6 days and we saw our little miracles heart beating.

Being a very anxious mother to be I have booked ourself in for another early scan for next Tuesday 9 weeks 6 days.

I don't think I will quite rest until our precious child is here, although I will still be worrying about them for the rest of my life.

After getting the all clear from my consultant I went and saw my GP on Monday and I am being referred to consultant led maternity care due to all my problems getting pregnant.

I am on clexane as I have a blood clotting issues and I have elevated natural killer cells - my body was killing the embryo. So I have been and am still having intralip infusions and the clexane for the rest of the pregnant and for 6 weeks after giving birth.

This will be our one and only child so our little miracle will be absoutely thoroughly spoilt.

Wow Lobster, that is an amazing story. Massive congratulations on your pregnancy. No wonder you're having a few early scans! Looking forwards to getting to know you on here. I'm around the same dates as you!

Hopefully this time next year we'll be looking after our 5/6 month old babies!

    Hi zcrat41,

We are due 12th February. I am so excited, but we are trying to keep our feet on the ground until we get to the 12 weeks.

I have to have intralipid infusions once a month until 20 weeks so really until 20 weeks I am not out of the woods.

It really is a wonder what they can do in this day and age. Without our wonderful consultant being so passionate in helping people having children the work in elevated natural killer cells wouldn't be where it is today and I wouldn't be where I am.

When we were going through our last IVF we agreed that it would be our last and we had embryo transfer on 25th May my mums birthday so it really is fate.

I get a 5 minute DVD of our little one on the scan on Tuesday I can't wait to get it and then I will play it non stop at home.

With my swollen boobs and my uterus stretching pains I am trying not to moan and cherish every little ache I get. Oh and brilliantly I am not suffering from morning sickness. I was dreading it, but I think with all the drugs and the drugs I am still taking to make my little bean stick my body can just about cope with whatever our little throws at me.

Congrats Lobster! It's always a bit special, but I imagine when you have been trying for so long, it's even more special :)

2b - huge congrats to you too and thank you for sharing your story. My first GP appt was a non event tbh, she didn't even confirm the pregnancy as the tests nowadays are so accurate. I'm feeling really dehydrated too and struggling to drink enough.... and I have been pukey on and off. Feels a bit like a hangover, without the alcohol!

Not too bad a day here. Couple of icky incidents and I am v tired, but that's it. Oh and despite vowing not to buy anything baby related yet, I might have bought baba his/her first pair of jodhpurs today. OH is determined that baba won't grow up to be horsey, I am determined baba will......we shall see :)

And I popped to see the horses earlier. They looked nonplussed and 30yo was being her usual awkward self, but it was good to see them

Hugs to anyone in need xx

    Hi everyone, newbie here

I got positive pg test last week, don't really know how far along I am yet. 7+3 according to LMP, but I suspect it was a late ovulation and so less far gone.

I rang the docs and the receptionist gave me a midwife app for next Tues. Can anyone advise what is likely to happen at the app? I am getting married in August and so would really like a scan before then, do you think thats likely or will I have to go private?

I've had a few twingy abdominal pains but thats all really. No sickness or anything.

Welcome to the newbies, its great to see you over here...hope you're doing well.

How did you tell your oh's? Bet they were dead chuffed, especially your DW 2b.

Lobster - that is a truly amazing story, congratulations xx

How is everyone feeling? I'm not feeling too bad today (tempting fete I know!!), maybe because the sun is out at long last.

I'm 9 weeks today, I cannot wait for my scan so I can tell work and friends - I just feel so dishonest. Although, I was a bit naughty today and told my work friend; there are a couple of jobs coming up that I'm not keen on doing so felt I had to tell her so she could do them for me.

Hope everyones OH's are looking after you well

    xx

When in August? They'll date you at first scan and that needs to be before 13+6 on your LMP dates so if that works out for you it should be fine.
(6 weeks away for you then, but hopefully you can squeeze it in before then). Here it was booking in appt at 10 weeks I think and then scan 2 weeks later (although I was a bit further on when they checked dates) - at the booking in appt you can ask them to have it as early as poss and hopefully will work for you. Make sure your first appointment (with whoever it is) refers you properly and quickly to the midwives though, mine took quite a while (I think it was in the doctor's outpile!). I don't think they'll schedule you in before 12+0 though for the scan so will that be early enough??

zcrat - hows the farm? Are you arable farmers? This weather must be a nightmare for you. My Dad is a farmer and he is dreading a wet harvest too. Luckily, he's semi retired so no potaotes or other crops
