Hiya Ladies, had a bit of a scare last night, had tummy pains in work last night and got home and I had started bleeding, went to the hopital and they wouldn't scan me because they don't scan at night!
Went back this morning and had a scan and everything is ok but I'm only 6 weeks atm0 -
Millie - they only scan early if its significant pain/bleeding or you have had revious mc, mmc or ectopic
Thanks, she wasn't concerned. This morning was a bit of a non-event, but I have a 20 min appt in another couple of weeks, when she will book the scan, etc
Due date is currently thought to be around 17th Feb0 -
Tattoo- that's a relief for you xx0

Hi all,
Hugs to everyone having a scary time just now, thinking about you jojo, hope it's good news.
I had the second part of my booking in today with the midwife I'll be seeing throughout, she's really really nice so that's great.
We're heading over to tell my parents and sister this evening, still only 10 weeks but my sister is coming on holiday with us for a week on Saturday so it would be too stressful to try and hide. My Dad was in hospital earlier in the week for some tests so I'm hoping this will be good news and something to look forward to. I honestly don't 100% know how they'll react though, they adore our 7 year old but I think they maybe think that having waited so long we wouldn't have another, I've never discussed ttc with them as I just think it's private and cause for parents to worry if nothing happens. My older sister and her hubby told them 4 years ago they were trying and said they were very underwhelmed but tbh I don't know what you would say to that as a parent, you'd want our children to be happy but ttc is nothing anyone can have any control over. Sis and bro in law have not conceived yet and my patent never mention it and brush it off if I do but my sister is happy to talk about it- her mind set is if it happens it happens but they wouldn't go down any investigative/ fertility treatment/ adoption route if it doesn't. My other sister is "never having biological children as there are already too many unloved children in the world who need a home" she is very "for the cause" lol.
We'll then tell oh family over the phone tomorrow as they are abroad.
God I ramble on a lot!!
Anyway hope everyone is good and looking forward to any scans etc coming up. The thread is certainly growing now!!MARCH GROCERY CHALLENGE £118/ £2500 -

I'm only 6 weeks now so when do i get my booking in appointment? surely its a higher risk being a fertility treatment baby and having suffered a m/c 3 months ago and also having had pre eclampsia with my first son? or am i panicing myself for no reason? x
Ive booked my app with the GP as soon as i saw a positive, a day before i missed my period, although as i have a daughter, i think, i wasnt given an app till 03/07. I am 8+4 now, so i had to wait a bit, but i am sure you can do it now if you phone them ?Mejor morir de pie que vivir toda una vida de rodillas.0 -

Sadlu it was ectopic and i had surgery to remove left fallopian tube. But feel very grateful to the nhs for saving me from possible rupture or death.
Always get any bleeding checked out asap ladies, mine was only light spotting.

Morocha, I was thinking about this today and I don't think it's horrible of you to say/ write, it's something important to think about so if you were told baby isn't 100% healthy you'd have had a chance to think things through.
The truth is none of us can know how our pregnancies will turn out although the odds are that everything will be fine.
I worked with disabled kids a few years ago and work with disabled adults now and am happy to say that most do genuinely have quality of life but it does make you think.
When I was pg with my first at 20, the downs screening came back as high risk, and really high considering my age, I didn't want any of the more invasive tests and just accepted what would be would be but thinking back it would have been very young to deal with a down's child. I would hope I'd be better prepared for the situation now and again wouldn't want any of the invasive tests.
It is such a personal issue and not one that I believe anyone can judge another person on.
I think it's a case of we all would hope for the healthiest possible baby and deal with any other situation in a way that was right for your own family.
Try not to think too much about it though an enjoy your pregnancy!!
