Welcome Oxclaireox - I remember you from ttc thread.

I've got my booking in appt this morning.

I have a really random question for her this morning that's been really worrying me since yesterday.

I drive a really old banger that stinks of creosote as some was spilt in the truck many moons ago. I've never given it a second thought, it's just my car smells bad. Then I remembered creosote is carcinogenic and on a bit of googling have discovered it may cause cleft lip.

Now very angry at myself for not realising it was a problem.

    Morning ladies,

Zcrat, try not to worry too much (and this is most definately the pot calling the kettle here!). I am sure the risks are very tiny and they only mention it as a cautionary thing. Hopefully the midwife will be able to give you a clear answer that puts your mind at rest.

Another nervous lady here - after suffering with slight nausea every day, really painful nipples, bizzare dreams and waking up at 5:30am every day bursting to go to the toilet I haven't really had any symptoms for about a week. My nipples are still sore but not as bad as they were and the bizarre dreams are much less frequent and shorter. Meanwhile, nausea and bursting for the loo has almost completely disappeared. Getting myself in a right tizz about it and ended up crying to DH last night. He seems to think that this forum isn't good for me as I wouldn't even know about mmc if it wasn't for the forum and that I wouldn't even be worried if I hadn't had a mc the last time (that part is true). He said I shouldn't stress out as it won't be good for the baby (also true) and although I feel better this morning after getting it out in the open, I know it will play on my mind until the scan (242 and half hours, not that I am counting...).

    Morning everyone.

Welcome oxclairexo. I lurk a lot as well but am trying to get myself to post a wee bit more.

Zcrat - I have no idea. Would your midwife/GP be any help at all? In some instances google can make things worse!

Walby, I know that you will worry anyway but I know some women's symptoms ease off after a while. I can't remember how far along you are. I have had a mmc and I had full on symptoms up until we had the scan and in the week after and up until my EVAC. Everyone is different and it may not be anything bad. I'm now slowly starting to worry about my scan (next week, eek!) and i know that I'll panic until then. I keep telling myself that no matter what happens i can't change the outcome. It's not making me feel any better. Your feelings are totally normal especially as you have been through a loss before. Just remember you're not alone. We're here for you too!

Thanks Nephthys, I am 9+5 according to my dates (10+5 according to LMP). Hearing you still suffered with symptoms despite the mmc makes me feel a bit better as it means having fewer symptoms doesn't necessairly mean anything. DH said it could be symptoms trailing off as I come towards the end of the 1st trimester (bless him, he knows the terms and everything!). You have put my mind at rest a little more so thank you so much. (Will tell DH this tonight so he realises that this forum can be a good thing!)

Will be thinking of you for your scan next week and keeping my fingers crossed for you.

Walby, symptoms come and go in my experience! I seem to have left the nausea behind now (I'm about 18 weeks) but even in the 1st trimester it came and went; some days better than others :)

Ive booked my app with the GP as soon as i saw a positive, a day before i missed my period, although as i have a daughter, i think, i wasnt given an app till 03/07. I am 8+4 now, so i had to wait a bit, but i am sure you can do it now if you phone them ?

I filled in the form for the midwife but since ringing Tuesday she hasn't rung me back, I've got myself a private scan when i am 9 weeks as i can't wait for a 12 week scan if there is something wrong ( there hasn't been but i can't help but worry myself) and if she doesn't ring me today I'll ring her again Monday and see whats going on.

Walby - with my first most of my symptoms disappeared pretty much overnight too. Think a lot of it's to do with maturation of the placenta - it basically takes over running the show now so your body can stop producing the same levels of evil hormones which have been making you feel so bleugh.

Sounds like you're just over the worst of the first trimester and once you get your first scan out the way you can look forward to the second trimester sympoms which are much more pleasant...great boobs, a proper baby bump and tiny baby kicks ;)

Think it's absolutely natural to worry but try to take some reassurance from the fact that the risk of miscarriage significantly reduces after the 10th week from LMP x

Thank you to the lovely ladies who have tried to reassure me - I feel much more positive now!

It's year 11 prom tonight and it has been a nightmare to find something to wear! Most of loose fitting dresses are v.low cut which is not appropriate for school and have tried the safety pin trick and you can see the top part is pulling apart. Tried a strapless but flowy dress I had which had good coverage on the boobs but as I have put on weight since I last wore it there was a hideous amount of back fat . And everything else I own that is dressy is tight fitting which would highlight my rounded stomach far too much :o. Have to settle for a nice but not particularly dressy dress and hope that high heels and a nice bag might make it look a bit glam.

(Btw, I am NOT in year 11 but a teacher of year 11 :rotfl:)

    Hi all,

Lol @ walby, I did wonder if 1993 was your birth year which would make you old enough to be pg but far too young to be a teacher!!! Have a fun night at the prom, I'm sure it's more work than play for you and being pg you won't be able to misbehave but I'm having flashbacks to my 6th year prom (6th form in England) where the teachers were taking swigs of whiskey from the boys hipflasks!!

AFM I finally have a scan date, 17th July @ 8.40am. The initial appointment came in for Friday the 13th!!! I'm not overly superstitious but hubby wouldn't have managed that date so it was nice to change it to a date he could manage.

I'll wait for someone else to do the list as I am on my iPhone posting.

    Happy Friday all!!
