Hi Everyone
Went to the hospital today as was measuring small for my dates.
They did a scan and found my fluid to be low so have to go back in a weeks time for another scan to check that I'm not losing fluid.
We were at the hospital for over 3 hours, mostly in the waiting room!My daughters are my world0 -

It's good that they want to keep monitoring you, better that than patting you on the head and sending you away
No heavy lifting though, that's an order.Mum of several with a twisted sense of humour and a laundry obsession:o

Hi everyone,
I'm just lurking around at the moment, got my BFP about two weeks ago, I think I'm around 6+2 nowwith my first and an EDD of around 24th January (9 days after mine and OH's first wedding anniversary!). Have got an appointment with my doctor on Monday to get myself in the system but apart from that am just plodding along really, hoping everything is going as it should... Not had too much in the way of symptoms yet, no sickness to speak of, more tired than anything really.
Anyway, just thought I'd introduce myself, hope to get to know you all over the coming months!:j Debt Free 27.07.2011!! :j0 -
Hi All,
I'm new here and just looking for a bit of signposting. Is this list just for expectant mothers? I'm an expectant father and starting to look into buying all the stuff we're going to need, so naturally have lots of questions.
Right now I'm wondering what I should be looking for in a pram. Is there a forum group somewhere else to discuss that or have I come to the right place?
Regards0 -
The thread is for anyone expecting a baby, so you are most certainly welcome :hello:
I can't help you much with looking for a pram I'm afraid, have you looked at the Mamas and Papas website or Mothercare. Someone will be along shortly to advise you better than I can I'm sure.0 -
Hi kalico and welcome.
Everyone has their preferences on prams, I found it best just to go into Toys r us, mamas and papas, boots etc and just have a play with them until you find one you like and then go look at the reviews online, trying to start shopping on the internet just confused me. It'll all depend on how you're going to use it. I was told to go for one that had a reversible seat so they can face you when newborn. I guess things to think about are whether you want one that takes a car seat, are you country or city based, do you want a carrycot that you can use as a bed as well, etc.
My criteria was simple, reversible seat and as light as possible as I live up steps and have a weak elbow that tears easily, so I just went in and asked what was their lightest one suitable from birth!
I'm off to bumps and babies for the first time today! Terrified I'll turn up and none of my group are there and I'll stand around like a lemon (I have terrible social anxiety).
Still suffering form swollen hands and feet, it's now got to the point where I keep losing feeling in my fingers. My blood pressure is slightly raised compared to my booking in but still within normal range, I just got told to keep an eye out for any other symptoms and basically suffer humph.0 -
Congratulations Fluffy - Connor is a lovely name and I'm sorry it was such a long process but glad all is well now and you can enjoy mummy cuddles.
Welcome 4nabella and Kalico - congratulations and this is the thread to be on!
Kalico re: prams, I am petite so my priority was a manageable pram that was light and fits into a small car, and could be used from birth to around 4, which would save us money. We went for the MacLaren brand, Techno XT model. We will use a BabyBjorn baby carrier for as long as we can (and when practical) and then use the pram at other times. Remember to use e-bay - our baby carrier was only £12.50 on there as opposed to £60-£80 new. Boot fairs etc are also great places to get items like clothing prams etc. I agree with Perdi that going to see the prams and having a play with them is the only way to start narrowing down what you want, also recommendations from friends and family etc.
SVSandy congrats on team pink and hope you feel more relaxed now. I was convinced we were having a girl and then at 20 week scan we found it was a boy - clearly our inner detector doesn't always work eh!
Hi Apricot hope you are ok, was wondering where you got to. Seems like this weekend flew by, it was def nice to have Monday off... we went for a day long antenatal class on Sunday (only one we are doing). It was worth it but I guess I thought it was about breathing, stretches etc, maybe that's outdated as it was pretty much all information based... so the movies lie!
Re: names we are almost there and have 2 main names now, so just need to decide but still 2 months to go really. Have only told a best friend on my side and OH told his best friend, both liked the options which is good as it's always so scary letting the cat out of the bag!:):)
