I used to feel like that but am now getting scarily close to the top! It's amazing how quickly you move up!
Ooh galvanizerbaby 24th June is not very long away! Are you all prepared now?
I've still managed to escape the stretchmarks so far, despite my bump feeling huge to me! Not counting my chickens though, a friend went all the way through her pregnancy with no stretchmarks - once she hit 40 weeks she developed loads!
I'm due about the same time as you and last week a rogue purple line that is shiney started to show. I now have roughly 5 (i'm not counting, honest) I think I may have inflicted one myself by wearing my bellybar for too long!! Oops!! oh well, a small price to pay for having a baby:heart2: Mummy to one gorgeous little girl :heart2:0 -

:rotfl:Not really no!
I finish work on Friday and then I am moving house this weekend - half term the week after so I'll try and get most of baby's stuff washed (obviously need to find and unpack it first)
I've got everything for my hospital bag though except my big pants so just need to pack the bag up ready (it should be a 2 night stay if all goes smoothly)
Re the stretchmarks - I've not had any ever so far so keeping fingers crossed I won't develop any now.0 -

Like what Galvaniserbaby? I had mine nearly 3 years ago but that was an emergency one although not a crash one luckily. Just wondered if there was any differences with an elective? Going to be such a strange experience having a date and not having lots of sweeps etc to get things going!!
Not sure really as have never had an emergency section - I would imagine an elective to be a much calmer experience though?
With me DS was found to be lying breech at the routine 39 week appointment and he was too big to turn so they offered me to come back the next day for a section - so I did.
DD was concieved when DS was 9 months old and they advised another section so I went with that.
This time (7 years on) I could have tried for a VBAC but was happy to go with the section again.
Elective wise - Basically you turn up at the hospital with your bag - they gown you up and get you ready for theatre - give you a spinal - put catheter in (you won't feel due to spinal) - get OH scrubbed up for theatre - deliver your baby behind screen (takes about 10 mins) - pop baby over screen to show you then midwife does checks and OH has a cuddle (or whatever you've agreed) - then it takes about another 30 mins to stitch you back up again.
It's the only way I've ever given birth so I've not much to compare against but in my experience it's been a positive way to deliver.
(Also truth be known I'm a bit of a control freak so I like knowing date in advance let's hope madam hasn't got other ideas and decides to come early!)0 -
Hi everyone,
Bad nights' sleep last night - woke around 3 and then again at 4, such a pain. Had a bite to eat and just couldn't get comfy. So today my eyes are a bit scratchy...
Apricot you are very organised, I have only chucked a few bits into the hospital bag, it needs more stuff in there!
Koala my mum is slowly getting better thanks for asking, she has been connected to oxygen and so far cannot talk just yet only write but I think today or tomorrow she will be reviewed again to see how much longer she needs to be in intensive care - a week or two I think. Then she can go onto the normal oncology ward for the remaining weeks. I am planning to send her a package from here of magazines etc to keep her entertained.:):)

Just come back from 28 week appt. I think I'll stop going I always come out depressed. Its a shame coz my MW is really nice....anyhoo some of you might remember I was measuring 3 weeks small 2 weeks ago. Well I'm now measuring 4 weeks small. MW again said not to panic - its very variable and lots of factors blah blah BUT she also said that if he's still small at the next appointment she'll have to send me to see the consultant at the hospital. But we're on holiday for 2 weeks from next Friday so my next appointment isn't until 22nd June!!!!!!!!!!!!!! She told me not to worry until then.....ummm that's like another month of not knowing whats going on!
She was very good about my SPD and said she could refer me to a physio if I wanted but again with my holiday getting in the way (of everything it seems) she can't do anything until I get back. The good news though is that being at work (and sat at my PC all day) actually seems to make it better. Its only when I'm at home I can't sit still for needing to clean and tidy the house.Leo James arrived 7 days late on 26th August 2011 by emergency CS :j Such a cheeky chappy now :T0 -

lol!I've ordered some big pants from Matalan but the courier doesn't seem to want to leave them without a signature and I'm at work all day!
Might just go and get some this weekend.
I want a pack of full briefs and will buy in about a size 12 but I need them to be over the belly button due to the section wound but last time I recall I must have brought them too big and once DD was born my belly went down and my knickers kept falling down0 -
:rotfl:Sparkle I may have bought everything for the hospital bag but nothing has so far made it into the actual bag! Job for tonight though I think (feels like I've been saying that everyday for the last week!)
galvanizer I also have these http://www.very.co.uk/intimates-essentials-maternity-briefs-5-pack/883088255.prd?browseToken=%2fb%2f100086%2fs%2fbestsellers%2c0&trail=1589-1710-100086 I have no idea what possessed me to buy them but OH thinks that they are hilarious:happylove DD July 2011:happyloveAug 13 [STRIKE]£4235.19[/STRIKE] £2550.00 :cool:0 -

Sounds very similar to what I had last time. DH got to cut the cord which was nice for him. The recovery time wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be eitherThank you to everyone for sharing competitions!0 -
That actually sounds very like my emergency ones GB.
. Even with my oldest who was delivered at 27 weeks without steroids it was all very calm and professional...well with the exception of me that is as I did not realize especially with him being my first just what a shock it is when your baby does not make any sound whatsoever.
Sparkle I am really pleased to hear that your mum is making good progress and I am sure that she will love her mercy pack of magazines.
Clarieloo I hope that you can find a way of following your mw advice and not worrying too much. I have been led to believe that fundal height measurements are quite often less than accurate when it comes to determining babys size0
