:rotfl:Oh err - where did that newbie sign suddenly spring from Perdi? - wasn't there a minute ago?!!!
Hope all are well this morning.
Just got back from appointment with consultant who has booked my section for 24th June so have amended on the list (sorry to those I've queue jumped)
My BP was really low (not particularly unusual) and baby's head is 4/5th engaged (ruddy well feels like it too) so he said that if I get any signs of labour before 24th then to phone the ward straightaway.
This has freaked me a bit as I'm only 34 +3 today and DS didn't engage at all as he was breech and DD's head hadn't descended at all either by the time she was delivered at 38 weeks.
Hope this little lady isn't too keen to get here - I'm moving house this weekend! :eek:0 -
Glad you got a date. I don't know when I will get a date for my c-section. Seeing my consultant tomorrow for the first time this pregnancy so hopefully will find out how many weeks I will be when they give me a date. I'm hoping for the week before I am due as the week after is half term and we'll struggle for childcareThank you to everyone for sharing competitions!0

If any help to you in my area they book your section (i.e. give you your date) at your last consultant appointment (for me this my 34 week appointment).
In my area they like to do elective sections between 38-39 weeks so if it's similar in your area you should be ok for half term0 -
I am getting my date next week it would seem that nothing had been arranged up until now as nobody had thought this baby would stay put so long as her brothers certainly didn't.
. I am getting excited about getting a date but also nervous as it will give me time to panic and dwell and obsess whereas with the two emergency deliveries I had no time to think before it had actually happened if that makes any sense?

I know what you mean KM. With my last 2, I went 2 weeks over and I knew I would so I just added 2 weeks onto my due date. This one will be born effectively 3 weeks before which is going to be so weird!Thank you to everyone for sharing competitions!0

That makes sense.
I quite like the planning aspect of knowing beforehand though (but guess not having emergency sections with either of my children previously it's what I am used to now)
The midwife ran through the procedure today after I finished with the consultant and a few bits have changed since my last section (7 years ago) but not much really.
We are excited now0 -
Whenever the due date list is posted it depresses me as I'm still so far down the list
I used to feel like that but am now getting scarily close to the top! It's amazing how quickly you move up!
Ooh galvanizerbaby 24th June is not very long away! Are you all prepared now?
I've still managed to escape the stretchmarks so far, despite my bump feeling huge to me! Not counting my chickens though, a friend went all the way through her pregnancy with no stretchmarks - once she hit 40 weeks she developed loads!:happylove DD July 2011:happyloveAug 13 [STRIKE]£4235.19[/STRIKE] £2550.00 :cool:0 -
Like what Galvaniserbaby? I had mine nearly 3 years ago but that was an emergency one although not a crash one luckily. Just wondered if there was any differences with an elective? Going to be such a strange experience having a date and not having lots of sweeps etc to get things going!!Thank you to everyone for sharing competitions!0

I am unfortunately quite a worrier by nature no matter how hard I try not to be.
. I know that I am just being very silly though and will manage to put it aside and actually enjoy the countdown.
