Hi everyone! Im due our first baby on the 21st july, i didnt find out what it is, keeping it a suprise! Im just starting to try and get some things i will need and was wondering what steriliser you would recommend? I was looking at an avent microwave one but unsure if that means i can only use avent bottles? Im hoping to breastfeed but would like to have it in case i cant do it? Thanks so much for any help!

Puzzled glad you will get a bit of a lie in in the morning as you don't want to be getting over tired and run down before baby arrives.....it will happen enough the first few weeks after delivery. :o

Supermaiden hope you getting a chilled out and relaxing night. :D

Hi and welcome Curlylou. :D. If baby doesn't arrive on due date Make sure you stop by and chat to pass the time. :D

Hi and welcome Kazzy. :D. Before you buy a microwave sterilizer one thing that I would highly recommend is that you measure your microwave and check that the sterilizer will actually fit :)

Ladies the tiny pots of sudocreme that you get in bounty packs are a brilliant thing to keep in the kitchen as it is amazing for treating burns. :D

I'm now 8 days overdue and unbelievably fed up!!! I've tried every trick I've heard of and he just won't come out! Sick of people saying 'are you still pregnant?' and texts that say 'any news?' like I'd keep it a secret if he was born!! Booked in to be induced on Saturday if he still hasn't come. Dreading it! Not the way I planned it :-(

Sending lots of labour vibes your way Emzi in the hope that everything starts naturally and you escape the induction. :D

Planning on a nice quiet day at home today as am still a bit achey and stiff from yesterday and also managed to get stuck in bed this morning which was so not funny at the time but is making me smile a bit now! :rotfl:

Sending lots of labour vibes to everybody who wants them. :D

    Good Morning :)

I had my early scan yesterday afternoon- my EDD is now 21st december :) So forward a couple of days! All is going well so far, we saw the little heartbeating away nicely. I'm going back in around 3 weeks for another scan though-as it was too early for the nuchal (spelling?) scan as i am only 10 weeks.

It is feeling more real now! :) I have decided to tell my closest friends-as i can't hold back any longer.

I hope everyone is ok this morning :)

Me and my friend went to the Baby Show at the NEC on Saturday and we stopped at the Avent stand. I wanted to buy the microwave steriliser and was planning to let her borrow it for her holiday. I've always used Avent bottles and find them really good but she uses Tommee Tippee. So we asked the assistant and he went away and checked and you can use Tommee Tippee ones in Avent sterilisers. Which was good news as the Avent steriliser was £10 at the show and the Tommee Tippee one £18 - bit of a difference! I noticed it's less than £10 on Amazon though. Hope my rambling helps anyway!

Welcome to all the newbies! Glad the scan went well keelykat - it's always nice when you see that little heartbeat. They brought me forward a couple of days too but don't think it makes a big difference. Also, I had to go and have another scan due to being too early for the nuchal fold. Went for that scan and baby was facing us so couldn't do it anyway! Ended up with the blood test instead lol

Congratulations on the scan Keely. :D. Glad it went well and also that you are getting to see your baby again in a few weeks. :)
