Oh dear it looks like I may have a few issues ahead my older boy fully understands that he will be getting a sister however the younger one is insistent that as he is a boy and his brother is a boy then the new baby will also be a boy and keeps referring to baby as him! :o. He is also getting annoyed that we have built the furniture for the baby yet the baby has not come to sleep in their bed yet! :rotfl:

Does he have any experience of 'girls'?

If he has barely spent any time with them it is confusing. you could discuss with him what makes girls different.. pigtails and frills! .. or that he has big brother duty of looking after her at school and teaching her good things like clapping hands and kicking a ball... and she won't have any teeth  .. mine find that fascinating!

You could tell him it is good because he will still be your 'baby boy' DS3 is 12 and still my 'baby boy' he informed me last summer when we had squeak he doesn't like sisters but glad he is still my baby boy.. :) My older boys are old enough to understand it keeps him happy and means nothing other than he is the youngest male so it would be sillly of them to protest..

Quite right KM. How rude to not come and use the bed bought and built especially for you!

I've discovered a downside to having cleavage for the first time in my life: keep finding crumbs in my bra :o

DD is 4 and tells everyone that asks about the baby that "my baby sister she might be a girl and she might be a boy" LOL best hope its a girl or she'll be miffed!

He is quite used to girls Pigpen as his section in nursery has more girls than boys and he usually interacts very well so am really not sure where it has come from? :o

That is most definitely his mindset Twilight with the funniest bit being that he is most annoyed about having built the currently vacant crib all by himself (he actually helped me put a cotton sheet over the top of it to stop dust settling in it) :rotfl:

but girls that are big like him and his friends are nothing like baby girls.. I'd prescribe some hugs and reminding he will still be your huggy boy (even if he is spiky when you hug him) when the baby arrives and you will love him just the same as you do now and he will have a new person to love him as well because being a big brother is so special!.

I will need to take it as it comes but I really do not anticipate too much upset caused by having a new baby as ever from he has been able to walk he has tried to abduct babies left in their prams inside the doorway of our local co op and has regularly asked for a tiny baby to have at home as he really does not like being the baby of the family and sees himself as quite grown up despite being 2! :rotfl: he is also not and never has been a fan of being cuddled or picked up whereas my older boy loved it. :(

Oh no!!! Did you manage to keep the water topped up with hot?

Right, decision time, I have the consultant in the morning to discuss my rh- antibodies ..... do I attempt to bring up the topic of induction due to SPD .... or do I tough it out??? I am in sooo much pain, and I've had my codeine, and it's not hitting the spot. I got induced last time, but had really decided this time to leave it to go naturally .... now I'm doubting myself :o

Oh no Winnie that is awful! Are you ok now?

MrsS that is a difficult one but you need to have a think about whether you can actually cope with the pain both physically and mentally until at least your due date? That hopefully will give you an idea of whether it is the right thing to do or not. :o
