Problem is, once you put in a dressing gown, PJs, pads, nappies, wipes, clothes, toiletries etc the bag is full! I had to take a suitcase lol!!

This is what I have found over the years too - and then when you leave you have your bounty packs to bring home, and all the cards and gifts people bring you for the baby whilst you're in there ...... well they've always brought them up for me, but maybe that's due to me always being kept in a couple of days :o

Not sure if it's the same at every hospital, but we have to take our own towels etc too, so I like one for immediate post labour shower, then a clean one for after. When you have to stay in more than a day, you then want another towel as they get, erm, a bit grotty :o

Pads and nappies are bulky and take up a lot of room initially I remember taking a pack of newborn nappies in last time and DS2 went through them all and I needed more bringing in .... yukky meconium nappies.

I also like a bottle of ribena or something to drink and some snacks for the postnatal ward :rotfl:, a book to read ..... the list goes on and on.

If you're bottle feeding, our hospital make you take your own bottles and formular milk so that needs packing (another + for breastfeeding )

I have been knitting! :o My mum bought some kind of "how to knit" book which had needles, wool and a "how to" dvd. Well I dont know where she put the magazine but she has given me the rest and I started last night and havent really stopped much since. I learned how to do the slipknot, cast on and purl. Ive messed up quite a few times but still carrying on. I did a few "knit" rows by accident so the design has gone onto both sides with the v shape and the u shape but nevermind! I am going to try and make a lot of squares in all different colours then put it together for a blanket. It may be a funny looking blanket with all the mistakes but I will have made it with a whole lot of love! :D

I was wondering if anyone knows what braxton hicks feel like? Well Im sure some of you do lol! I had some weird happenings last night. Im 32 weeks. I was laying in bed trying to go to sleep and was getting this feeling in my stomach, I thought maybe it was baby moving around a heck of a lot but then thought maybe not since it was both sides of my tummy. It seemed to feel like it was hardening but then stopping and I got it a few times. Fell asleep in the end lol and had nothing like it today.

We're lucky with our hospital as they give you the little bottles of formula milk with the disposable teets which is great for me as my milk never comes in so have to bottle feed. They gave me quite a few to last the night as well with DS2.
I'm really thinking of having a private room this time if I can. I know you have to pay but thought it would be better especially when my 2 come in to visit. Anyone else had a private room before?

I only had painless tightenings with DS1 but with DS2 I was getting them for weeks. Almost like period pains. DH was convinced he was coming early but no he went 2 weeks over! Sounds like you might have been having them hun

I think the best way to think about how they feel is to think of someone slowly blowing up a balloon inside you and then letting it down slowly! The sensation gradually tightens your whole bump, holds a few seconds and slowly releases again.

They used to give little bottles here too when I had DD and DS1, but when I had DS2 they had stopped providing them to promote breastfeeding. I was a bit annoyed as the MW hadn't told me prior, and at that point (labour, lol) I hadn't made up my mind how I wanted to feed. I ended up having to try breastfeeding purely because I was in labour and had no bottles to use just in case!

Are they expensive hun? I was only in 2 nights with DS2 who was an emergency c-section but 3 nights with DS1 who was a natural delivery. Go figure!!

Hmm perhaps I will have to find out before I go if they still do them. I literally have no milk to feed them. With DS1 they told me to persevere but 6 days later he had lost nearly 2lb and he was only 7lb 13oz to begin with so I got the formula down him! He's a right little piggy 6 year old now and I'm convinced its because I starved him when he was first born!
