I think it's highly likely that a woman will be there to demonstrate breastfeeding so if your OH is uncomfortable best to go alone.

Afternoon all. Very warm today! Been for my 16 week appointment with the midwife and heard the baby's heartbeat for the first time :heartpuls! My midwife is actually a friend of the family which is lovely. Every time she locked onto the heartbeat the little monkey wriggled away so it seemed like she was chasing it around my tummy

This cardigan that my grandmother thinks I am going to knit is going to take me a year!!!!!! I CAN'T KNIT!

I like knitting, but I knit purses and thinks. Not patterened cardigans. I have to do it though to please her.

Hope BP check went ok MrsS. You're right to see someone if you just don't feel right.

And re breastfeeding workshop. I'm just doing the classes at the midwife centre, one of which is breastfeeding. They're in the daytime though so mean time of work. It's been enough of a struggle getting OH to agree to come to the labour one so I'm not even mentioning the feeding one. I'd like him to go though so he can understand that it may not be quite as easy as shoving it on and all going swimmingly!

Evening

Well I've been checked over and my BP is fine at 110/80, no protein in my urine so the headache is not a sign of pre-eclampsia (phew!) She said I had some white blood cells in my urine, so she has sent it to the lab at the hospital for a proper check to see if I have a UTI. In the meantime, fluids and lots of rest. I still feel crappy. She said if I feel any worse tomorrow I've to go back. I'm at the consultant Friday morning anyway. I feel a little better knowing my BP isn't up. DHs first wife had full blown eclampsia and had to have their DD at 29 weeks so I worry everytime I have my BP checked that I'll have high BP. Think he feels better knowing I've been checked out too.

So feet up, restful night for me tonight. I even weakened and went to the chippy for tea tonight because I couldn't think about what we had in to cook. Mr Tesco isn't bringing shopping til tomorrow afternoon so I know we don't have much in. Oh well .... £14 I need to knock off the shopping bill for the rest of the month to make it even out :rotfl: On the plus side, my ebay auctions all finish tonight and I've made more than I thought I would

My sister is starting to make Nappy cakes to sell on ebay & wanted some feedback.

This one contains: 16 Newborn nappies, baby sponge, 2 x bottles, comb, brush, johnson baby oil, johnsons baby shampoo, johnsons baby lotion, fleece, flannel, 3 x baby body suits, 2 pairs of mits, 2 x bibs, blanket, 2 dummies and a teether!!!

Would anyone consider buying something like this & if so how much would you pay for it?

I am ebay listing tonight.. dull dull dull!!!!!!!!!! I have a pile of carp beside me which IS going... I have to get rid.

OH has been informed I want to go get the new car seat at some point in the next 2 weeks, I want at least 24 hours notice but I am happy to go whenever he wants within that remit.. most reasonable of me I thought!! It isn't like he has a busy social calendar.

I also want the hedge trimming.. but whenever is fine with me.

I have been informed by DS3 he is not a slave and I have no right to tell him what to do.. so he has got out the pates, wiped the table, put dinner out and told everyone to come get their dinner.. he is going in the shower next.. I am being exceptionally evil to them all before they think they can get out of hand and take advantake of my inability to chase them.

DD2 has a 1 month laptop ban due to more detentions for lack of homework. If she needs the internet for schoolwork she can have it in my line of vision so I can veto facebook etc... she will learn!

paracetamol not touching this back pain and we have nothing else in the house.. OH won't hand over the ibuprofen.. meany.. I can stand for about 2 minutes before collapsing for half an hour... that isn't even long enough to make a cuppa!! I need shooting!

heeelllooooo can I join your lovely thread? I am 13 +1 weeks pregnant and have had my scan today, went really well and have a lovely clear picture of the baby so I thought I would make the leap from the 12 week thread. Hope you're all ok, sorry your back is bad pigpen thats rubbish!
