Pigpen how did the shoes work out for you last night? :D

I didn't wear them.... I didn't even try them on, I saw sense and put my flat comfy shoes on.. which was a good move as we ended up parked 5 minutes walk away and I simply couldn't have walked that far in those boots.. I felt all smug being sensible!

I'm off to the Baby Show at the NEC at the weekend with a friend who had her 2nd baby a couple of months ago. So excited - men are staying home to look after the kids. Hoping for lots of freebies :j

Ooooh I wanted to go to this but have to work. There's one in Manchester in September so I might go to it if it's any good. Please let us know how you get on! :)

Kandboys hope you have a good time at the baby show. :D

Puzzled sorry you are not able to go to it. :(. I missed the one here too and am now trying to convince myself that it wasn't worth bothering about. :o.

MrsS I am sorry that this has happened but hope you can salvage your day even if only with some choc and ice cream cream and a feel good film. :o

Puzzled I am soo jealous! :o My late gran used to knit all the time and I know she would have knit a cardi for my little man. My other gran, I am surprised really at her as I have had to ask her to knit one, that was a couple of weeks ago but she still hasnt started. :( I just wanted something special that someone had made specially for him. I think I may have to attempt it myself but I have no idea how to cast on/off and I drop stitches everywhere! Can only knit plain too and not perl(sp)! So Im sure it would turn into a right spectacle of a cardi! :rotfl:

Supermaiden not sure if it will be of any help to you but there is a huge revival with knitting at the moment and most cities now seem to have several groups set up where more more experienced members share their knowledge with newer members so may be worth googling or asking about locally. :D. If you do join a group you will probably find that you end up drowning in card is and hats and the likes as lots of ladies in a similar age bracket to my mum do it as a social thing too and these ladies generally can generally create a full layette within days as they have done it so often! :)

    Morning girls

Firstly, congrats to Teenie and Evans for the new arrivals - gorgeous little fellas you have there!! Me want one!! :j

Puzzled - so jealous with your knitting. I used to be able to knit as a child (my nanna taught me) but not done it for years.... Maybe I'll head down to hobbycraft at the weekend....

Flower - that sucks being left out - but your OH is right, if they see you having a baby as a good enough reason to leave you out, you don't need them. You'll make loads more friends when you're at baby classes etc.

    Fanta - you popped yet?

MV - broody? Does that mean another one already??!! :p

Welcome to the new girls too - sorry, can't remember names (I am rubbish!)

Well, another busy weekend for me - DH's extended family were down from Scotland so we had some BBQs etc. I was absolutely shattered yesterday afternoon - DH was sanding down the stairs (really noisy) and I fell asleep on the sofa and slept right through it!!! I'm only 22 weeks - thought I was meant to be full of energy!!!

Also had some stomach tightenings yesterday - I felt a "wave" over my belly and then my belly went hard for a minute or so. No pain at all - just the sensation. Getting worried they are early braxton hicks - surely week 23 is way too early for these? Eek!

I did have a few people at the weekend tell me by bump was very neat - everyone thinks I'm having a boy as I'm all front. No idea how much truth is in this old wives tale, but neat will do for me!

Anyway, enough waffle - have a good day and labour vibes for Fanta and Rachel

    xDx

Being all MSE try the local charity shops :) MIL has got some lovely wool, kneedles and patterns much cheper than hobby craft and she also got some really nice patterns from the city market :)

Sorry i dont know anything about braxton hicks only being a few days behind you :)

Glad you are happy with your bump being tidy :) Sounds like your friends are being supportive rather than going for the "your getting fatter" comments im getting lol.

    Hope the appointment goes well!

Koala - hope you had a good sleep :) Maybe we should start an anti baby show thread for us to have a moan :rotfl:

As for me - back is poo, had a mega nose bleed this morning and have what feels like stitch alternating between two sides of my bump - its safer not to ask me how i am today lol

    Thanks for the tip!!:)

Mainly I get the "you're huge" comments so the weekend made a nice change! From the front and back, I don't look pregnant - from the side is a whole other story - looks like I have a bowling ball stuffed up my top!! :D

Sorry for your bad back, nose bleed and stitch - sounds rubbish :(
