Afternoon all!

Quite a bit been happening for me since I last posted. I'm very nearly 20 weeks and have the!anomaly!scan this week. Sooo excited and it's finally starting to sink in a bit but I still can't imagine having a baby. I'm definitely showing because people I work with who I haven't told have started noticing and asking me so no denying it now!

I felt movement for the first time on Friday (19+2). Was in the car and had eaten a big meal and my trousers and seatbelt were tight on the lower part of my belly and then I felt like something was lightly poking/prodding underneath the seatbelt. Obviously little B didn't like being squashed. I also think it rather likes lying on my bladder as quite often I'll feel like my bladder is bursting and I need the loo but then there's nothing there. Was a bit worried about UTI but it's quite irregular so think it's just a bouncy baby. Every day I count my blessings that things have been going so smoothly for me in this pregnancy. Being really careful not to take it for granted.

At the weekend I saw an old friend who had a baby with the same team of midwives and at the same hospital as me last year. It was great to swap stories and hear about her birth experience.

Managed to convince husband to look at prams/pushchairs with me. I tried to look on my own once but felt so awkward and out of place I ran out of the shop without speaking to anyone . We like the quinny buzz but will probably buy it on fleebay/gumtree as they're pretty cheap 2nd hand, then buy new carrycot mattress and carseat. Criteria were: forward and rearward facing seat, can take a proper carrycot, big or air tyres, bar handle, swivel front wheel(s). Other contenders were the M&P Sola which a few of you ladies are getting - looks nice but I fancy something with 3 wheels and more chunky, and the icandy apple - a bit too chunky as I'm a shorty and I worry I'd look like I've stolen a pram from a grown up! Also like the look of the maxi cosi mura but haven't managed to find one in a shop and wouldn't buy one without trying it.

Thanks for all the jeans advice last week. It's reassuring to know I'm not alone. I've decided that shop changing rooms are no place for a pregnant lady so have ordered LOADS of pairs from various places online and now waiting for them to arrive.

As for nursery decoration... a friend has the Kids Line Zanzibar range which is jungle themed. It's lovely, I'd really recommend checking it out if you're after a jungle/animal theme. I'm going for a fairly simple look with cream walls and bright red, yellow and orange accessories plus a hint of turquoisey blue. It'll probably end up quite boyish but if this one is a girl then she'll have to get used to boy things as will be living in hand-me-downs from my 3 nephews.

Huge congratulations new mummies, and get a move on boldies (as if you need me to tell you!). Sorry not to comment on anyone's news directly, I check in on my phone and old!sieve!brain here can never remember who said what.

I was a blubbing mess earlier, mum rang and said that she was going to be going to her MIL's until Sunday, I replied and said 'oh, so you wont be the first to meet her then', she said 'no, sorry'-well that was me gone! I just couldn't talk and had to hang up phone (will blame hormones again but I thought she'd be really anxious to meet bubs ) she texted a few minutes later to say that she'd wait until she was here, so feeling better now.

Aw I would be upset too As for the white trousers......humph all I achieved was spilling my baked beans down them:mad: so much for that plan then!!

Breast_Cancer_Survivor

I had my 25 week antenatal appointment today & despite only putting on 1 kg i'm huge so i'm having a GTT test next Thursday.

I'm also big for my dates & the baby is already head down.

It just makes me wonder whether my EDD of 13/07/11 was correct rather than the dating scan EDD of 30/07/11. :think:

I hope everyone else is well & enjoying the lovely weather. :A

Claireloo - hope you manage to sort out your maternity pay etc, you wouldn't think it was that complicated would you!

twilight - exciting feeling baby move!

BCS - i woudn't worry about being big for dates, might even out later!

I am still getting pains every 6 mins ish. Had a bath and took paracetamol. Guess just got to wait now and see if they get closer together. OH's family are getting all excited and I am worried will turn out not to be it and i will look silly but never mind.
