can you, wow you can't do that here. you have to book an appointment with a register at the local council buildings to register the birth. and you can't always get an appointment straight away. thats a handy service to have tho at the hospital.

apricot your proberly not entilted to tax credits until after the baby is born. with our first we weren't entitled then once she was born we were.maybe try changing the date and put down that you have already had your baby to see if once your little one is here if it makes a difference if that makes sence. also don't forget next tax yr your income will be lower as your have your maternity pay. and tax credits is based on your previous years earnings and your estitmated earnings for this yr.i still don't understand how tax credits work.

I did try changing the dates to say that I'd just had my baby it still came back as zero. Will give it another go though in case I missed something...

My day just gets better, just did a urine sample for MW and it went all over my hand and then dripped on my handbag

Anyway im off for my appointment now - catch up later xx

Apricot, I left my last week sample in the car for two weeks. I only remembered it was there when the dog was chewing it on the back seat

Ony if your baby has a name :p.... Ours was 'baby' for a week.. in the end I made the appointment to register her and said to OH you have until 10:30 in morning to decide on a name :p.. that worked.

ps has anyone else had to have a smear test during pregnancy? I had a bit of a scare with spotting on the weekend and now placenta has been found high and safe I've been told that I have to have a test sooner rather than later... :(
still at least baby is happy and healthy and bang on all the growth lines xx[/QUOTE]

I was under the impression that they do not do smear tests until after baby is born. I got my smear after DD and am due one now but will ask this when visiting midwife for 1st visit on friday.

    Hi girls

I've not read back very far - I hope I haven't missed any big news!!

Forumgrazer - fab scan photo! Can't wait for mine!

Apricot - I thought we were entitled to CTC too but I think it changed since 6th April (start of new tax year) - I think the baby element was removed and the threshold may have come down further. I was expecting to get around £45 per month when I'm on ML (based on last tax year's calculation) but now it's nothing. :(

My income will drop by 75% when I'm on SMP. Luckily we've been saving cash for my ML so I should be able to have 9 months off.

Another long day at work yesterday - 14 hours! The guys I was visiting to supervise had had 4 days at the job and I struggled to see what they'd done - they are such lazy b*******s. So annoyed - was absolutely fuming and I had to stay with them all day to make sure we got everything done before we came off site. Lucky one has handed his notice in otherwise I'd be getting rid of him - I was so angry with him.

So tired when I got home and then I found out DH had used all the hot water!! Made him run up and down the stairs with boiling kettles for me in revenge.

Won my first bundle of baby clothes on Ebay yesterday; went to pay for them via Paypal and it appears they've frozen my account pending more information for me! I've had it for years and used it fine - no idea - phone call from me when I get home later methinks.

Anyway, good luck to ladies being induced tomorrow - can't wait to see the babies. :)

    xDx
Fear is temporary, regret is forever.....

Yes I too was told that they don't like to do smears routinely in pregnancy.

There are many reasons for spotting during pregnancy and not all are connected to the placenta.
