Charlie1978 wrote: »My 'minor' heartburn disappeared at 20 weeks. As soon as I hit 34 weeks it was back with a vengeance. Not just minor either. Pretty much like you it would wake me. I was so sick with it and now it doesn't seem to want to disappear. Awful sensation that comes on at night and has me crunching on Gaviscon tablets like they are going out of fashion. They taste totally rank but at least they get rid of the problem if I munch early enough. I think i'm stuck with it now for the foreseeable future
Charlieeeeeeeee!! Hello hon, hope you're well! I bought some of the strawberry tablets, thinking they couldn't be any worse than the liquid stuff - could not have been more wrong! Urgh urgh urgh!! I keep meaning to ask the midwife if she can give me something, spare us buying shares in Gaviscon, but of course I forget while I'm actually there...I had a bottle of gaviscon in my bag until 2 weeks after the baby was born, and a strip of rennies.
AFTER?! You mean it doesn't go away when the baby's born?!

The old one worked fine. We get a letter telling us about this new super duper fantastic must have bla bla bla. Hubs says 'oooh' - I say ok. The internet never works again. I shout a lot and learn to never let Hubs be swayed by the latest gadgets. The End.All horses deserve, at least once in their lives, to be loved by a little girl.

Thanks for the vibes ladies, bit more plug and feeling achy lower down but I seriously doubt there'll be any real action before I'm admitted, never mind there are advantages - they aren't going to send me home for not being far along enough, I can have gas and air quite early on (I have been looking forward to that for 9 months:D) I can unpack my stuff and get sorted before things start (I stay in the same room from admittance to discharge) It would have been nice to do it naturally this time but never mind.AKA: PC

I'm hearing you ladies on the heartburn front, I have eliminated nearly everything except cereal at night which has helped a wee bit but last night I took a swig of water when i woke up and that gave me heartburn!!
Gaviscon is my friend at the mo but Cutterby you are so right....the strawberry ones are rank. The only thing that i can really cope with is the aniseed liquid gaviscon! I am so looking forward to having a nice meal at night without the worry of painful acid and/or throwing up"That's no reason to cry. One cries because one is sad. For example, I cry because others are stupid, and that makes me sad."0 -
Teenie I can only stand the mint one..
And yes it goes on after the birth, the hormones which relax mucles relax the sphincter at the top of the stomach too so until that is gone you suffer.LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -

Most of it will be bought next month but cant be bad to be organised
