i strained a lower abdo muscle on thurs after playing with the dog, thought it would feel a bit better today, but instead it feels as if everything is going to fall outa my foof! :eek: not a comfortable feeling at all.

Hoping that the ladies expecting imminently get their babies in their arms very soon xx

Just to let you all know that I went on a bit of a shopping spree this afternoon, and the Angelcare nappy disposal system is currently reduced from £20 to £6 in Toys R Us. Not sure if it's any good, but I snapped one up as only the other day hubby was saying how he thought he'd have to empty the bin every day so the flat didn't constantly smell of p o o :rotfl:Needless to say I put him straight on the concept of nappy bins and he was as happy as Larry!

That is annoying Supermaiden for the cot!

Have had a nice day. Went to shops with my MUm. I got some birthday cards as have quite a few birthdays coming up and need to be organised. I also got a couple of books on offer , will give me something to do waiting for baby. Took my Mum for lunch as well at La Tasca for early mothers day as we are going to see my Grandma tomorrow.

Got my feet up now as they are lovely and swolen.

So,
Still lurking here, should go to the parent board but old habits and all that!!!
The wee man is doing grand and we appear, at the moment, to have a great sleeper. He does 4-5 hour stints which everyone thinks is amazing although we spend most of the time worrying he's sleeping too long. Lol

We tried to swaddle him but he loves his arms out so not every baby likes it.

We bought cot sheets from asda and once washed they are super soft. They were 2 for £8 I think (100% cotton)

We also were given the growegg and it's great but I'm shocked at how warm my house actually is. I thought it was a lot colder than it actually is. Saying that, we have a couple of the card thermometers and they work just as well.

Like sammygirl said, newborn clothes are probably going to be used by us for a bit yet before we get to the 0-3 mth stuff. Scratch mitts are also a must in this house!!

As far as bumps are concerned, I'm 5'2" and everyone said I had a tiny bump yet C was nearly 9lbs. Hard to see how he fitted!!!!
Later lovely ladies and bumps...... Wee man needs attention.....

Yes first pregnancy. I have spoken to a few people and it does seem to be different for every area. Will just use it as a chance to ask all the questions I keep thinking of :rotfl:

Congratulations to those after me on the birth list, and people who are overdue (or just impatient) can have my labour vibes as I had stacks of them due to being 13 days overdue!

Thanks for the compliments on Amy (I agree wholeheartedly of course!) She has a cold at the moment. So hard to hear her snuffling.

I am on a bit of a downer, didn't get discharged from the midwife yesterday as they want to keep an eye on me. To be honest, it's a catch 22 as it is the being discharged that upsets me as I love being pregnant and giving birth (ok some of it in hindsight) and as we may not have any more, it is so final. But I know I have to move on. DH said it's not the end, it's the beginning.

Also I know now that I want to work in that environment, not in my desk job. But it's really difficult to see a way forward - quitting my job for a lower paid one with more antisocial hours doesn't really stack up esp with young children. But DH is supportive in saying that we should check it out.

Adding another day to my signature I do have a tiny bit of news to report - I have lost a bit of plug, doubt there's time for anything to happen before I'm admitted Monday afternoon but you never know

Morning ladies

Up far too early today, needed wee at 4.45am and been awake since! It wasn't too bad a night either, my hips have been feeling a lot better these past few nights.

Good news about your plug PC, there is still time for bubs to make an appearance before tomorrow

My mind is working overtime though about what I'm going to do this week, finish work on Tuesday so am planning a huge batch cooking marathon on Thursday while dd is at nursery and really need to get house in order it is needing a good clean so will get that done Thursday/Friday and wanting the carpets shampooed so will get DH to do that at the weekend, I think then I might just be ready for a baby coming home.
