Congratulations Dusty - that's great news that little Joseph James is here. Looking forward to reading your birth story - hope it wasn't too traumatic.

GFH - I can't believe you and PC are still here!!!!!!! Obv an EDD of 24/03/11 is jinxed lol. Sending you both loads of labour vibes.

I'm still looking for the lead to connect my camera to the laptop so I can post a photo of my DD. I'm currently sat here pumping as Esme and i are having some probs with BF'ing :( At her 5 day check she had lost way too much of her birth weight as mummy isn't good enough with the milk :( . So we're pumping breast milk and formula feeding until her weight improves and then we can work on the BF'ing again.

I hope everyone and bumps are well. It is totally worth it! I love my little baby so much and wouldn't change her for the world :happyhear

Glad your loving being a mummy so much Sammy, don't want to hear any more negative talk about yourself though, it sounds like you are doing fantastically and Esme is very lucky to have such a good mummy.
Another thought, do you have a memory card slot on your laptop?

Grateful, I just keep telling myself that we're only talking a matter of days now, to be fair though I'm not due until next week, so feel free to remind me of that when I get to your stage :D (Even though I'm sure you'll be far too busy!

It might just be me but I'm finding Loose Women really depressing, I've only watched it a few times but its so wingy! I'm sure I'll be a convert over the coming months though....

    Hi ladies

Ive just been to Tesco and seen a few baby bargains. Some of them are cheaper in the Asda baby event so might be worth waiting.

TT breast pads third off £2.70 for 50,
    TT CTN bottles x3 £8.16,(260mls)
TT electric steam steriliser half price £ 19.50. That has 2 bottles, brush, dummy.
TT nappy wrapper half price £12.76
TT breast manual breast pump £13
    TT electric btl warmer £13.60
    TT Travel bottle/food warmer £6.31 - this one http://www.tommeetippee.co.uk/product/new_travel_bottle_and_food_warmer/

i bought the breast pads and the travel warmer as it is great when your out and about and especially for warming baby food. i remember a cafe refusing to heat up my HM baby food incase they made it too hot and I sued them!

If I remember correctly the manual B pump goes down to £10 in the Asda baby event.
I also got these bottles in a baby event but have never seen them again

Just catching up on posts but congrats Dusty and hope you enjoy little Joseph cuddles!

What sites are you using for baby names ladies? We think we have narrowed down 2 favourites but need help with middle names.. any truth to the thought that if your surname is 1 sylable, have a middle name that has 2 sylables?

My induction is booked for 8pm so maybe that's why we have been told he can't stay, might be different if it was daytime who knows, update today midwife not long left the house, finally managed to do a sweep must admit it was quite uncomfortable, feel a bit drained from it now so going to put my feet up for an hour or two & hope that it works!! all the best to everyone.

I'm not too sure about the how many syllables each name should have (the first and middle names we like both have 3 each!) but this site has a little bit of info http://www.babynames.org.uk/middle-names.htm

mmm yeah maybe that is the reason, I went in at 6pm so at least I had him for a couple of hours. I found the sweep very uncomfortable (and a bit of a shock to the system tbh LOL :o) so do rest up and take paracetamol if you think you need them. Fingers crossed it has worked.

Hope the sweep works for you my1st baby.

Sammy - you are doing a wonderful thing breastfeeding and it takes a while to get your milk established. Please don't feel negative about yourself in any way - you are doing such an amazing thing! So many women combine feed (I did for a while with DS as he was so cranky and constantly on my boobies!) - what works for you is what's best for you and Esme x x x

LOL grateful my induction included 5 lots if gel, 1 pessary, 1 sweep and eventually the threat of a CS, they did put a canula in for the drip but luckily I didn't need it! Each time I was given the gel or pessary it was in the ward, the only time I went to the delivery suite was when one of the consultants tried to see if my waters could be broken and then obviously to deliver bubs when I was in full labour.

    Blimey, that was a performance!

Hi Sammy good to hear you are ok. Some good advice I have had in this situation with b/f is to have a feed-in. Basically set yourself up with snacks and drinks and just feed on demand, all day if necessary and otherwise rest. Also consider getting a NCT b/f counsellor to visit you? You don't have to be a member and I don't think they charge, they didn't use to.

eta and I second the comments about not feeling mummy guilt about it. xxx

I was a bit tired after, resting sounds like a plan. Maybe tell them you will go in for induction the next day so DH can stay?
