Dusty I struggled with my back the first time round, and once it really hurt where you mention, and I couldn't move and could barely breathe. It was really scary.

The physio said the muscles had gone into spasm as I was overusing them because I wasn't using my abdominal muscles properly (cos I couldn't, there was a baby in the way!)

I don't know if this is relevant to you obviously, but I had to focus on holding myself upright correctly, rather than letting my shoulders fall forward and supporting my upper body with my upper back. If you stand with your back to a wall, and press your bra strap into the wall and relax your shoulders, you can feel how to do it. It took some practice but I've had no trouble this time.

Hugs Dusty - hope the worst is over and you can recover today. Sounds like you need to be spoilt by your OH x
  • Didn't get to sleep last night till 3! I got in bed and was lying on my back for 10 minutes putting creams on my face etc when baby decided to go breech horizontal all of a sudden:eek: so I had 2 huge lumps either side of my waist, lets say it was very uncomfortable! I couldn't lie on either side as I was pressing on the bum/head and pushing it out the other end which was agony. I paced the floor and crawled around for 2/3 hours then he went diagonal and I lept in bed on my side to stop him moving round again:rotfl:he then wiggled and kicked in protest that I'd blocked him in:rotfl:and I finally dropped off today he still feels slightly diagonal but not too bad, just hope he's not head up. I have to laugh here's me hoping the head will engage and he's on walk about at 39+3

I always get a severe case of runny bum before labour starts or just as it starts. Beats pooping on the MW :p

Supposedly it means labour is approaching, it's because prostaglandins are being released which help the uterus to contract.

But I had that all last week, and now back to normal all this week. Similar experience last time; 'here we go!!!' and a week and a half later, still thumb twiddling.

I have given up sign reading, given up being 'pregnant', and have moved on to painting walls. Interestingly, that is what I spent my time doing when I was having a threatened miscarriage. Does anyone else only realise how stressed they are when they look at their behaviour?

I'll get a telling off when DH comes home. I'm meant to be resting. Well I've rested for over a month now, and I've really had enough.
