    Where are you?!

Its not amazing, its MrS basics tortelloni tarted up and takes about 5 min, except roasting the veg.

I tried Madras last night as an eviction strategy, thought it was working for a while, too, but then DH was ill all night, so that backfired (literally!!)

Sounds great to me still :D

I am a wimp normally so i wonder if the curry thing will work for me when the time comes...

Curry never worked for me, or s e x, or any of the other ways of 'encouraging' babies to come along. 5 days over with both my 'spontaneous' deliveries. I was induced with #3 so I'l never know, and we'll have to see with #4 ...

even going overdue didn't make me want to eat curry with DS1...can't stand it. i sware by KFC!! thats what set me off. if they don't induce me then its kfc 3 times a week from 37 weeks :D

you can refuse induction and should if its what YOU want. when DS1 was born there were 4 of us due within a 3 week period. one was due beginning of october (we're talking 2nd/ 3rd)....she watched as we all poped before her.... baby turned up on 7th november.... she felt that one IYSWIM.

I am pleased to announce we got the house we put in an application form for 9 days ago :T:T:T They kept us waiting all day, but after me ringing again at 4pm as we had another viewing scheduled, they finally were able to get hold of landlord and confirm it :D So very, very pleased, but can't relax fully until all references done and we get the keys. They do a bank reference rather than a credit check, so he said it could take 2-3 weeks? As the banks tend to take a while. But we hope it will be done quicker of course. Should be able to get the keys by first week of April though  I'll be just over 35 weeks pregnant then  Just can't wait to get nesting and organise all bubs stuff - and the house is massive, so we will finally have room to breeeeeeeathe

Just tried packing my hospital bag and is not big enough grr. I packed all baby's stuff in boots changing bag and still not enough room so think i might have to get a holdall or something.

It's amazing how much stuff you need isn't it! I managed to squeeze everything I needed for bubs in my changing bag, have used a weekend holdall bag for my bits.

Tortelloni sounds lovely grateful, although I did have it for lunch :D. OH just asked me what I wanted for tea. I didn't know, but i think I will ask for mushroom omelette.

I just went for a sweep at term + 5. I thought there would be some change as I've been having period pains on and off for about three weeks. but no joy she could only just reach cervix with her fingertip and it was firm and closed

I was gutted, I came home and just cried.

I hate the thought of being induced, for its own sake but also because then I'm off to the big regional hospital and not the midwife led birth centre like I really want. But even if I refuse induction, the birth centre won't take me at 'post-mature' anyway.

I just cling to the fact that DS was 10 days over. Hopefully it's just that I cook my babies nicely. That can't be a bad thing can it really. But it HAS to be out by next Monday. That will be the induction day apparently. And as much as I don't want it, I can't really see a sensible reason to refuse it.

Well there's seven days for baby to get a move on anyway, the chance of movement before then must be pretty high?

Sorry to hear your sweep didn't work, but you still have time for bubs to come naturally, don't you? Must be frustrating.

waterbaby get OH to make you a vindaloo for tea! Start eviction proceedings on that little one!

In all seriousness you still have seven days before being induced and things change so quickly I wouldn't get stressed about it!

I can't do curries! They hurt my mouth so much! I wonder if I could get it down somehow without it touching my mouth.

But yes, seven days is a long time at this stage. If I knew I'd go into labour before Monday, I wouldn't stress, I can wait a few days.

If the birth centre won't take me, maybe I'll have had enough by Monday anyway!

that is your sensible reason... some people naturally have 44 week gestations.. if you don't want induction say no.. when they start harping on about placenta degrading insist on a scan to check that and blood supply to the baby if that is ok refuse.. it is your body not their piece of meat.

my brother was 3 weeks over 9lb 3 and perfectly cooked.

Its hard to go against medical advice when told of risks though. But I will definitely be exploring not being induced on Monday if it comes to it.

I just hope the bank pulls their fingers out and gets the references done quickly... Fed up with waiting!

Hopefully bubs will hang on until his due date!

    No, it isn't.

Believe in your judgement.. ask for the scan to check the placenta and level of amniotic fluid and the baby too of course, if those are all ok there is no reason to give in to their pressure.. they do what makes their life easy and will say anything to get you to agree.. they are not Gods, they are little people with little jobs and just have a God complex.

They will say the placenta is degrading.. but they won't check unless you demand it.. say prove it!.. you don't have to be rude just forceful. It is your body! They will say the levels of fluid are dropping.. ask them to prove it..

Have you heard of birth rape? being forced or coerced into procedures or just having them done to you when you don't want it or haven't agreed or have agreed under pressure.

You can say no... or you can say.. 'I would like to check all is ok today and wait another few days/week please' That is not unreasonable.

I see where you're coming from. You've given me some more confidence. Where I am there's a term + 12 induction policy and that can't be accurate for everyone can it.

I was 10 days last time - it's infuriating!!! We must keep sight of how short a time we have to go, in the grand scheme of things. Very soon it'll be over, one way or another, and then we'll wish all was quiet again!
