PC - that looks like a good hospital bag. I think mine might be too small but will test it tomorrow as planning on packing it.

Mrsspendalot - yay for cot being built. We did ours last weekend and is nice having it up and ready.

Added waterbaby to the list - although in bold (why were you not on here before?) and little angel. Welcome to both of you and labour vibes to boldies :)

Thanks! I seem to only join these threads in my hour of need. Last time it was TTC when I had just had a miscarriage and was really struggling to get through each day. This time it was the start of the questions at my arrival at full term (is anything happening yet, etc) and the resulting rocketing stress levels.

Once I've joined though, I seem to stay til my natural exit (eg bfp, birth) as it's a great place to be!

Hello! Just wanted to pop by & thank you for all the messages. As you know Alfred decided to make a rather dramatic early appearance to the world. I wont post my birth story, I don't want to upset anyone. He is tiny & perfect but has quite a battle ahead. His first brain scan was normal & he is able to breath on his own but does need help at times as well as he gets tired. At the moment they are trying some medication to help close a duct in his heart, if it doesn't work it will require surgery at a different hospital. My recovery is going to take a while as the c/section didn't quite go to plan. Alfred is a 3 hour round trip away, it was heartbreaking leaving him yesterday but so good to see DS1 after 2 weeks in hospital. Needless to say we will be visiting Alfred every day so my time & energy will be sapped with that so I wont be on here much. I hope you are all keeping well x

I can't believe I missed this! Congrats BBM on little Alfred. It must be absolutely horrible to have to leave him though, I can't imagine it :( I hope he continues to gain strength and that he can be home with you soon. I also hope you heal quickly x

    Morning ladies.

Had a busy weekend of DIYing, housecleaning and dog-walking mainly!

I'm officially in the second trimester now (13+2) - woo-hoo for me!!

No other news from me really - no-one warns you that the time after your dating scan up to your second MW appointment is a bit of a non-event!! Don't really know what to do with myself!!

Dusty - your baby shower sounds fab!! Lucky you having such great friends.

    xDx

    Morning,

Yay for second trimester Debs! There always seems to be a lot of waiting at the begining but then the gaps between appointments etc gets less. The first few weeks are the slowest I found!

I did my usual of waking up every hour or so after 3am yay. Finally gave in and got up. OH and I both have the day off and have a few bits to do. Letting him have a lie in though as he had to get up yesterday for antenatal class. He made me laugh though he half woke up and said to me 'why is the light on?' to which i replied 'No it's morning and its sunny...' lol.

    morning.....

well i went for a quick bath last night (at 8pm) - told DH i did not want to loose an entire evening in there like last week.... got out at 10... OOOPPPSSS!!! it was just sooooo comfyyy and warm and smelt amazing (used the last of my gingerbread bubble bath)!!!!

DS has woken up in fine form again (read ohhh nooo please just stop talking for 2 minutes!). really don't know what to do today, other then take my prescription to pharmacy and buy some milk. the baby clothes are pretty much sorted into ages now and flowing out the boxes so outta sort them out. you know you have been sorting too long when you pick up DHs t-shirts and automatically look at the label to work out which box to put them in..... he laughed at me :(

mayb make something yummy with DS (cake or biscuits) as DH has gone to work then pub so won't be home till midnight. does anyone know if drinking chocolate (for milk) is a good substitute for cocoa powder??

wendz86 - no sleep is no fun. i *think* my drugs are kicking in as i only woke once WOOP but around 3am - the itching was enough to wake me but wasn't half as bad as it has been... DH was up (no idea why) and had the landing light on so i'd got up and as i could see by that light did't put mine on. half way to the door he switched it off opened the door then yelled at me for walking aroound in the dark!! ever think you can't win???
loves how my "I've been censored" signature has been censored. LOL. Happy Christmas. :xmastree:

I use it as a substitute when making chocolate crispy cakes with golden syrup, cornflakes and drinking chocolate. I like milkier choc and find that cocoa is too dark. But i guess it depends on what you're making

    Good morning ladies,

Dusty - Sounds like you had a fab baby shower and fab presents :j

Chicky - Mmmmmmm - a nice cake sounds yum. I would go for that :D

Wendz - Sorry for the rubbish nights sleep :( I know it sucks. I've gotten used to getting up at least twice to use the loo, but fortunately I drop off pretty quick afterwards!

Digital - Any news on the house situation?

Debs - Congrats on reaching 2nd Tri :j But yes, it will go slow between now and your second scan - and then it will fly by! My 20 week scan only seems like yesterday

Not much going on here. Still getting the odd crampy feeling but nothing regular or particularly uncomfortable, Prob just the position i have been sleeping in! I really need to get to M&S to sort out a couple of nursing bras but really cba - and don't really want to go by myself. DH is in bed (he works nights), friends are at work, mum is 200 miles away, and I don't really want to go with MIL. *Sigh*

Right, got a dog to walk to do and a pile to iron, so will catch you lovely ladies later.

Labour vibes to the boldies x
