No - I think we're going to leave it as a surprise, although it would be a lot easier to buy things!!

Ok - first newbie question - what the hell are muslin cloths for??? :D

    xDx

Faces, bums, noses, washing, drying, wrapping, playing, sleeping, eating, shading.. and they make a great bandana in the sun!

No news from RBG and Hitchins? - labour vibes!!!!

Just trying to read back through the thread - hope everyone is keeping well and had a good weekend.

ddebski - congrats on the 12 week scan

I am just over 23 weeks now and we are planning a night away in a luxury type hotel this weekend - not sure where to go though (we are in the South East) - considering London but looking all around so any suggestions/recommendations welcome.;)

The little lady has been very active still - I can now see her movements through my clothing which OH and the kids find highly amusing - her kicks are getting harder and harder now :)

For my niece her muslin was also her blankie/comforter. It went everywhere with her.sil had a trouble trying to get it off her to wash it. thankfully it was a nice pink one so it didnt look too bad.

I used to also fold one and put it under bubs head in the cot or pram. That way it caught the sick/milk dribbles and saved me washing the sheets every few hours.

Hmm maybe I should get some muslins then? I've bought a pack of 10 bibs but they're not very big so muslins would probably be handier tbh....I love baby shopping! Have been looking at the Gingerbread collection on M&P website - I love it but really cannot justify £68 for bedding! Might have a nosey on Ebay and see if I can pick up any bargains.

I found bibs didn't fit the tiny neck to start with.

Lilys newborn bibs only just fit her now.

Muslins absorb sick better than anything i know! :D

Ive only bought a pack of 3 muslins as I got 1 free with SMA club and 1 free with a Fairy sample. Tesco have a pack of 6 white ones for £4 odd.

The thing im struggling to find is newborn white socks. A few baby grows Ive got are footless, plus it will be coming into nicer weather. I was trying to find white ones and cant. they are either coloured or too big. I wish the Huggies started pack had sock in them again instead of hats, I now have 7 hats !! I suppose thats one for each day of the week lol.

I've got loads of hats too - they look huge though - they'd probably fit me. I saw white baby socks in Peacocks on the weekend - can't remember how much they were though :p

Speaking of hats - do they like you to have a hat for baby when in hospital? - or have I remembered that completely incorrectly and it was me with the hat fetish :D
