I so want to nest, but can't
I'm really excited that I have a room to call a nursery this time, as I never had the luxury before. When my DD was born I still lived at home with my parents, so she shared with me. When I moved out she was 3 months old and she had her own room then, which was nice. The boys always just went in with me until they were old enough to go in with DD because until we moved, I only had 2 bedrooms! This time the baby will have a lovely little room all of his own (although I'll have him in with me to start with).Olympic Countdown Challenge #145 ~ DFW Nerd #389 ~ Debt Free Date: [STRIKE]December 2015[/STRIKE] September 2015

Good luck RBG, hope everything goes well for you.
Nothing much to report here, have my 16 week appt with the MW on Friday and have only been sick twice this past week so things are looking good:D Now I'm able to eat properly again my appetite seems to have returned with a vengeance and I feel like I've put on loads of weight this past week. Think its fat though rather than bump:o:starmod:C'est la vie:starmod:0 -
Can anyone give me a reason to justify getting a dark dressing gown...I've only got 4 already but they are white or pink..don't ask why I have so many!!

Aww, that's niceI am also planning to have mine in with me first.
The box room in this house that was earmarked for a nursery (we actually moved into this house as I was going through a miscarriage, so had decided on this room being a nursery when we viewed) suffers from a fly/ladybird problem. We have no idea how they get in. We have sealed and taped all round the windows, but still the barstewards get in. So, noway are we having a baby in there. It's just gross. At the moment in there we have my office chair, bookshelf, dismantled desk, filing cabinet with printer etc on it, and loads of boxes etc of baby stuff we've bought. Nowhere to organise anything, and really no point. So it's sitting there waiting for me to sort it out. I am itching to. Was going to do my hospital bag today but CBA in the end. No rush (I hope!). Will do it when we move. A nice room for him is very important
I've had a dispatch email from M&P saying my items are on their way. Odd as yesterday in store the woman said the car seat adapters were out of stock at head office and would probably take two weeks to come in. Hopefully I'll get them tomorrow, then I can buy the car seat! Yay! Final big thingI suppose cot mattress is as well, may get onto that as well.

Good afternoon all
Labour vibes to RBG, Hitchins, DueMarch and JoJoands anyone else that need them.
I'm a fan of M&P too but so far have only brought the pushchair from there.
We will be moving in to a rented property in April with any luck (Digital - what region do you live in - it sounds like a nightmare!)
We are in the South and there appears to be plenty of places to rent at the moment and not too much competition.
My place is up for sale (has been since October) as is OH's but the market is a bit dead here at the moment so we plan on renting as my place is too small for the 4 of us (5 including baby) and OH's is nearer London so not ideal location wise for kids school etc..
We are planning to buy a much bigger property where I am now as close to my work, kids school and family but need to sell our places first.
Only trouble is until we sell we will have to pay 2 mortgages aswell as the rent so really keen to get sold - hoping the market picks up come summertime - to complicate matters OH has another flat which he rents out so we have 3 places between us but none that are suitable for us all to live in for various reasons - madness!0 -
No way would I normally pay £32 for a baby blanket.... but Ive bought most stuff second hand and my cot and mattress are from ikea and my mum bought carrycot for our pram. So the other night I was actually feeling a bit guilty that my baby would be kitted out in second hand stuff so decided I would buy him/her the blanket, and it can be his/her blanket , wont get passed onto siblings (
if i have any ) wont get sold or given to anyone.
Thanks to MSE for making it possible for me save to buy my new flat , yay !!

We had all the major stuff (cot, pram, car seat etc) bought as gifts so me and OH had the money to splash out. I did get a load of stuff from ebay but it was all the 2006 range and I much prefer the 2010 range.
We put the border up to make it nurseryfied then got bits and bobs of ebay.
We did get the changing mat and lampshade from M+P though-not cheap at all!
We just used the colours as a theme and accessoried in cheaper places e.g curtains from ASDA, bedding from TESCO etc. It is mainly the accessories that are M+B and we didn't go too mad.
I love the room though, I keep going in there and fiddling with things. I cannot wait for it all to be done, If I can get OH to put the shelves up this weekend we are done and I will get the pics up next week
Can't wait for pics, I love looking at nurseriesNo way would I normally pay £32 for a baby blanket.... but Ive bought most stuff second hand and my cot and mattress are from ikea and my mum bought carrycot for our pram. Good luck with your search hun, hope it's better than ours. We're in Suffolk, everything seems to have shot up in price here. I dunno what the huge demand is all about either. The most annoying thing is we have wanted to move for 6 months, but couldn't get out of our tenancy, now we can move we are struggling. Typical huh! Hopefully bubs won't make an early appearance! I would normally be hoping he does, but really want to be settled before he comes along. It's such a worry0 -
Back from my MW appointment was a complete waste of time tbh, all she did was take my blood pressure. Wouldn't listen to baby's heartbeat as they apparently won't do it until 22 weeks now! Waited over 20 minutes after my appointment time and was in less than 10 mins - it wasn't even the proper midwife - she is off sick again! Goodness knows if Ill meet her before this baby comes!:happylove DD July 2011:happyloveAug 13 [STRIKE]£4235.19[/STRIKE] £2550.00 :cool:0
