Good luck RBG !!!A suspicious package was once found in the town where I used to live it was suspected anthrax , whole town was shut off  Cant remember what it turned out to be ... defo not anthrax, lol My m+ps blanket came, first "expensive" thing Ive bought for baby. Waited for 48 hour sale and used £5 voucher so wasnt that bad ..... still £32 for a cable knit blanket  Its mocha coloured and from the Millie and Boris range , Ive had my eye on it since first visit to baby shop. Will look lush draped over edge of cot.

I've gone for the M+B range too, am hoping we get the cable knit blanket as a gift once bubs is here. Can't wait for nursery to be finished so I can post you all some pics :)

    Hi all,

Sadistic eviction vibes to Hitchins and RBG, normal labour vibes to anyone who needs!

I got some of the nightshirts in Peacocks yesterday - I need a 22-24 unfortunately and not many of those online, except 2 that I got! Can anyone give me a reason to justify getting a dark dressing gown...I've only got 4 already but they are white or pink..don't ask why I have so many!!

Still feeling a bit out of sorts, got midwife tomorrow so see what she has to say....it means I have to get out of bed by 9am

Baby now has some clothes he can go out in - Tesco have quite a bit instore that are half price or less if nobody has already mentioned - the bits I got are still full price online.

Just need to get sheets etc now..trying to get head around what I need!

    Speak soon xx

  • lol...thanks for those Mad (hugs)

Teenie I have the neurotech tens. It's supplied by our parentcraft team and if it lies the wrong way it gives this annoying bleeping noise (thankfully it has been quiet for the past half hour so it is still attached lol)

Got the moses basket and some other stuff last night and have just had the mattress of the basket out airing....didn't someone say a while ago that a pillow case would suffice as a sheet for it???

I never found pillow cases that fit my baskets.. might be worth trying a few of your ordinary ones once you get your basket.

Dusty the Millie and Boris stuff is so cute but very expensive. After I had bought a few bits and peices my friend said she was selling all her barnaby button stuff cheap  LOL Too bad , Ive already started getting m+b stuff. Not buying that much as we dont have a nursery atm and not planing on getting the cot bumper (i worry too much ) But have got the m+B dream pod thing , the mobile and the pj holder to sit in cot,cot tidy thing that you tie to the end of the cot and Im going to get the nappy stacker when Im next instore. All very cute. Havent paid full price for anything tho :money: Want to save cash for when we move house and I can decorate nursery (baby will be born by then and we will know flavour) So getting the best of both worlds , lol . Cant wait till you post some pics

I'd like to say that we hadn't spent a lot but I'd be lying :o

We had all the major stuff (cot, pram, car seat etc) bought as gifts so me and OH had the money to splash out. I did get a load of stuff from ebay but it was all the 2006 range and I much prefer the 2010 range.
We put the border up to make it nurseryfied then got bits and bobs of ebay.
We did get the changing mat and lampshade from M+P though-not cheap at all!

We just used the colours as a theme and accessoried in cheaper places e.g curtains from ASDA, bedding from TESCO etc. It is mainly the accessories that are M+B and we didn't go too mad.
I love the room though, I keep going in there and fiddling with things. I cannot wait for it all to be done, If I can get OH to put the shelves up this weekend we are done and I will get the pics up next week :D

    Afternoon ladies

sounds like there are some exciting developments .... labour vibes to you all!!!

I've still not had a phone call back from my boss re my maternity & annual leave  but trying not to stress about it as I got quite wound up about it all yesterday. Emailed my union rep but he wasn't any wiser than me on the whole thing really.

My daughter got into her first choice secondary school (I don't feel old enough to have a child at secondary school :o) which is fab :T

Heartburn is just as bad as yesterday :(

I'm struggling to decide which bedding to go for in the baby's room. My choices as the moment are between Next's Little Puppy range http://www.next.co.uk/shopping/homeware/nursery/5/ and Babies'R'Us My Favourite Things range http://www.toysrus.co.uk/Babies-R-Us/Nursery/Coordinated-Bedding-Ranges/My-Favourite-Things-Cot-Bumper%280012994%29

Me and the kids prefer the Next one, but hubby prefers the Babies'R'Us one. I know whichever one I go for, at some point I'll wish I had the other :rotfl:

What tens have you got RBG?

Digital not good hun :( I know up here rentals are few and far between. DH was talking the other night about having to move again but there is just nothing at the mo, at least we don't have the worry (yet!!) of being evicted!! Not sure if things will change here in the next few months with talk of the second base closing, it's bound to have an impact so will wait and see what happens. Fingers crossed something comes up for you soon!

Thanks hun. Around here it seems a lot of people can't sell their houses for the money they want, so they are renting them out. So landlords can pick and choose! We went up against 2 other people on one house. Very large, scruffy, but we like to paint and do things up. Two of us put in an offer, but we were rejected. I knew we would be. I said to OH that I reckoned the landlady would prefer an older couple. Even though the house is blatantly a family house and we said we enjoy gardening and DIY and she could pop in for tea when she wanted (not that I'd want that at all with a young baby, but you know how it is, agree with it...). Anyway, as we came away I said we'd never be accepted, and I was right. Very annoying as we wasted several night's sleep over the house. Would have been perfect on a space point of view.
I am not excited in the slightest about the house we're seeing tomorrow. First off it is with a stupid estate agents, also it looks small and I have doubts about the windows. However the garden looks great and it has new kitchen and bathroom etc. We'll see. OH is well excited as he could bike to work, plus it's a fair bit cheaper than we're paying now, but he hasn't seen the house yet :rotfl:

I'd love to be able to spend £32 on a blanket, but really could never justify it :rotfl: I love all the ranges M&P do, and I am a massive fan of theirs, but can't bring myself to part with that amount of dosh for them. I'd love to see all your nurseries once done though, bet they'll look fab :D
I am content with a reduced M&P border I got, which will do to brighten up his room :) Then maybe some of those nice fabric pictures or something. Will leave buying them until we actually have a room to call his nursery :( I so want to nest, but can't :(
