Just been reading the 'What was your wedding song thread'. Some of the posts and suggestions are so lovely and romantic and I was thinking about the lyrics and spontaniously burst into tears sat at my desk - gotta love those pregnancy hormones :rotfl:0

Afternoon lovelies
Welcome to all the newbies!! Not helping me much, I seem to be stuck in the same position at the mo LOL.....Hitchins and RBG we need those babies:D
I have a cold booo but I can't really complain as it's the first proper one I've had my whole pregnancy.
Grateful love your birth plan LOl :rotfl:
Who mentioned batch cooking? That is my plan too but I need to empty some of the freezer first lol! I got a load of tubs last week ready to go, it really does help when bubs is here, it's hard enough to think about anything without wondering what to have for tea!!
I never thought about a dressing gown or slippers etc. LOL I think I better start getting my backside into gear. DH was just saying last night that we need to seriously start looking at names! Maybe I will look my hospital bag out at the weekend.......if I remember/can be bothered (delete as appropriate!!!).
It's another beautiful day here today, it fairly lifts your mood, just annoyed I never go my washing out before work this morning. Oh and speaking of which I only have 15 days left after today :j I am looking forward to it but I think it will be a bit scarey when it comes.
Have a lovely day everyone xx"That's no reason to cry. One cries because one is sad. For example, I cry because others are stupid, and that makes me sad."0 -
Afternoon all!! hope all you lovely ladies and bumps are well!!
Not been about much-had a hectic week last week-which included going to see Boyzone-what fine specimens they are lol :rotfl:
Anyway, i'm reeaaalllyyy sorry to do this to you, but i need to have a rant!!
2 years ago, when we no longer needed them, we lent mil's sister our bouncy chair and baby gym for her to use at her house as she was just about to become a grandma for the first time and wanted a couple of bits at her house-fair enough, I dont have a problem with lending things like that especially as we weren't using it. It was very much only a loan, and I made this clear to mil (we dont live near her or her sister so she took the bits from us to her ) and said to tell her sister to just hang on to them until she didnt need them anymore.
Anyway, hubby has said to her before (quite early in my pregnancy) about it and she sadi 'oh, i'll have to check she's still got them' (my reaction was well i blimming well hope she has as they are OURS!!) but left it at that as weren't in a hurry at the time, and when talking to her the other day she was asking if we'd sorted out what bits we need, so I saw my chance and said 'oh just a cot mattress, and some toiletry bits, because your sister's got the bouncy chair and baby gym' and her reply was ' M (hubby's sister) has got a bouncy chair in her spare room'-I know this is one that hubby's niece got for her baby, so not my one. then she started going on about how it was one of those vibrating ones etc etc and i just replied that I didn't like those as ds 1 hated his one like that he had (which he did ) which was why we got rid of it and got the one we did for ds 2. she didn't say a lot to that!!
Now i'm thinking that i'm not going to get mine back-just because there is one there that i can use is not the point!! because i'm sure she wouldn;t be happy if i used it then didnt give it back to her precious daughter!! I really liked the one I had -it was chicco one-only a few years old so a newer design-as the seat lies flat, sits up, can be rocking or still, and really comfy for baby.
Am I right to be annoyed if i dont get mine back??? maybe it's the hormones, but it's really p*****G me off. To buy them new is £40 at least, and the baby gym is a tiny love one (ok, I got it in a charity shop for £4, but for me to replace it would cost more than that!) I know i can look on ebay, but i shouldnt have to as then it's like i bought her sister a bouncy chair and baby gym if i'm paying twice. and i was planning on hanging on to them for when my sister and her hubby have children. It has just annoyed me as she did that with the baby walker we had for ds 1, when ds 2 was about that age she said they didn't know where it had gone (she leant it to her brother for his grandson!) but they had given her another one for us-well this other one was so manky!
Poor hubby, i think he thinks i'm losing the plot-but i'm gonna have to get him to mention it again because i would rather have my stuff back, and i will be making sure he tells her that we got those because they were the ones we wanted, and that we were going to save them for my sister and if we dont get them back we will have to replace them, not use her sisters!!
Grrrrrrr Rant over!!!
Sorry to bore you all!! xx0 -
Afternoon all
I need some sheets and blankets too, might have a look round the shops at the weekend.
I am going to do some batch cooking when on maternity leave. OH can cook but not relying on that!
madnessandmayhem - i would be annoyed too if it was clear that it was only a loan0 -
Madness - Id be annoyed too. It was your stuff that you paid for and very kindly let someone borrow. Can you maybe ask the sister herself instead of going through mil? Id just drop her a line and say you are almost done with what you need and wonder when you can pick up bouncy chair etc?
If she has given them away then id hope she'd have the decency to replace them.:santa2::xmastree::santa2:0 -

I'm not 100% sure which sister it was that borrowed them (mil is one of 10 ) and they live about 200 miles away. What I suspect has happened is that mil may have told her not to worry about them, or has lent them on to someone else, as I dont think she was expecting us to have any more children (thats another story altogether lol) but i shant be letting her lend out any more of our things in future. But it's ok, because hubby knows exactly how to handle his parents lol and if not, i'll just chew his ear off until he does lol0 -
Afternoon ladies
Had a phone call from my boss today re sickness (have another 4 week sick note from GP due to SPD) and she is not expecting me to be going back to work prior to maternity leave. I tried to remain optimistic on the phone, but she seems to have written me off LOL
I'm a bit confused though about where I stand regards sick leave/annual leave/maternity leave.
Current plan:
3 weeks annual leave to take from 35 weeks pregnant, followed by maternity leave at 38 weeks.
BUT my boss has just said that if I am off work sick, I have to start my maternity leave at 36 weeks, and would have to take my annual leave prior to that. I argued that if I was on annual leave, I wouldn't be signed off sick though, so wouldn't be able to be pushed onto matty leave at 36 weeks. She is going to check with HR and phone me back, but she's being a bit funny about me being off so long anyway and doesn't really like me that much!
I asked the question on the employment board and have only had one response, which basically said that I couldn't go from sick to annual to maternity leave without returning to work in between sick and annual leave. Does anyone know if this is true? If so, what happens to all my holidays as I won't be able to take them, as my annual leave year finishes in August?Olympic Countdown Challenge #145 ~ DFW Nerd #389 ~ Debt Free Date: [STRIKE]December 2015[/STRIKE] September 2015
