20 weeks today :j
I have my scan tomorrow and was wondering if any of you lovely ladies would give me any tips? Its at 2:30. Im wondering what time I should start drinking the dreaded amount of water so that I dont burst before I get in there lol. The woman said last time that my bladder wasnt full and to make sure it is this time :j0 -
Lablover I have no idea how many I need but I figured people still use them for wiping toddlers faces so you can never have too many (providing you have somewhere to keep them) and it's one less thing to buy when we are on maternity pay.
Good luck for scan today supermaiden I have no idea about the drinking thing but I will be paying attention to the replies you get in preparation for mine in a few weeks. Are you finding out the sex?:happylove DD July 2011:happyloveAug 13 [STRIKE]£4235.19[/STRIKE] £2550.00 :cool:0 -
Supermaiden it said in my booklet for 20 week scan to have a partially (sp) full bladder. So I went for the loo before I left the house and drank water in the car all the way there (about 7 mins ) then we arrived 10 mins early so had another wee drink. Then the sonographer ran over buy half an hour because the lady before me was late. So by the time she started my scan she told me off for having a bladder at bursting point. So half way through I got sent to the loo not before saying " If I had been seen when I arrived 40 mins ago I wouldnt be at bursting point " She did apologise , so really I would suggest doing a pee before you go and drink on the way and while you wait. Thanks to MSE for making it possible for me save to buy my new flat , yay !!

Supermaiden I try and start drinking about an hour before the scan. Just a 500ml of water was enough for my bladder to be full enough for great pics but not too full so I felt I was going to pop.
Some say you dont need to drink at all for the 20 week scan, but I figured a wee bit of water wouldnt do any harm. They press a lot harder than the 12 week scan too, so they can get all the measurements. so if your bursting it wouldnt be very nice lol.:santa2::xmastree::santa2:0 -
Oooo congrates supermaiden you must be really excited! I hope your bubs plays ball and flashes the right bits (or lack of!!). I'm still early on so have no advice on the water question but I would say that you want to be able to enjoy it so I wouldn't get yourself too full otherwise you'll be concentrating on that!0

Oh no lol. I thought that was hard enough at the 12 weeks haha! I drank about 500ml bottle when I went to the last one. Will try it again, if they say its not enough then its not enough so will have to drink more lol. Husband is taking time off work to be able to go with me, thought I was going to have a fight on my hands with the other relatives for who would come lol because they all want to!:j0 -
I'm just about to throttle DS as he refuses to get dressed and he thinks it's fine to walk up to school in his jammies. I'm trying to keep cool cos shouting at him makes him more stubborn. Looks like it will be a last minute crying match at 8:30 !!!
You don't need a full bladder for the 20 week scan.. they usually tell you to empty it before you have it done!!! The full bladder at 12 weeks is to lift the uterus out of the pelvic cavity by 20 weeks it is already out so you don't need it!LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -
