  • A question for you ladies (and a TMI alert, sorry :o) - the only thing that's been quite different for me lately is in the no.2 dept. I'm usually a once a day/regular but now have to go more often. Also getting quite a bit of period type pain - but for me this kind of feeling (aching, kind of "dragging") can be either period or dodgy-gut feeling. It's just a bit weird and unsettling!
Can't find much on the internet - I know period pains can be the start of contractions - but what I've been feeling is more of a continuous dull ache rather than coming and going. There was also something about the increase in hormones before labour causing dodgy guts..
    Anyone any ideas??
I've had phases this pregnancy where I've had to have a little poo every time I've gone to the loo... Followed by a couple of days of the runs, followed by constipation.. It doesn't half mess with your body this growing a baby lark!!

Also, the periody type ache, I've had that a few times... I put it down to the baby growing/stretching out like in the early days... Much as I would like to take every niggle as a sign that something is happening, I'm pretty sure last time things just suddenly kicked off one night with no warning (then stopped and had to be restarted DTD!) and with DD1 my waters went in the middle of the night with no warning too... Doesn't stop me hoping each niggle is something though lol...

I was considering washable nappies for a while but then decided against and then I consider them again! Indecisive much! Are they really much of a hassle?
I don't think so at all... In fact it grieves me to see how many disposables we're throwing away at the moment!

We went to ante natal class about "infant feeding" I knew what was coming but felt a bit cross for the others who might not have been intending b'feeding as that is what is was all about. MW said she wouldn't be discussing formula feeding.
I'd be annoyed by that too - when I was in hospital in December I was very irritated by the posters plastered all over the ward telling you that you should breastfeed for this, that or the other reason. To me when they do that kind of thing it is propaganda. Having seen a documentary where a teenager who was asked if she'd considered breastfeeding said that formula was powdered breastmilk I do think people need to be given information to enable them to make an informed decision but once a person has made their decision they should be given information and support appropriate to their choice. Refusing to give information on formula feeding is wrong as it increases the risk of people doing it incorrectly and it is not respecting the choices people have made.

  • I need to be organised Apricot , SIL promised us most of her stuff ( neautral colours all from mamas and papas) and then MIL gave it all away. A few other friends of the family have said " dont buy xyz Ive got one in the loft/garage etc" then its never been mentioned again. So I dont want to be stuck 3 weeks before due date with nothing , lol
Thanks to MSE for making it possible for me save to buy my new flat , yay !!

Eek to public water breaking display Lauren I hope it wasn't a major gushing incident - I expect you are possibly at the hospital now so I hope all is well.

Damn I missed out of the wipes - stupidly I decided to think about it overnight and now they've gone back up to full price - grrrrrr!

I really need to get some stuff done today but my pelvis is really hurting :( I have my appointment with the physio tomorrow so will be interesting to see what they recommmend. I think I'm going to get my bag packed today at least just so I know it is done (or at least partly done) luckily we only live accross the road from the hospital so anything I forget can easily be picked up by hubby at the drop of a hat :)

Shaz, will you be like that women on OBEM, sending her husband off every 5mins with a list of things to fetch... lol...

Our hospital is on lockdown because of the Norovirus... Closed to visitors in the main part and only 1 nominated birth partner can visit on postnatal wards... I was concerned that we might get turned away completely but the midwife said yesterday that the labour ward is still OK and I can still have 2 birth partners... She also said, that in the current circumstances, if I re-iterate that I don't want to stay then they'll be happy to send me straight home...

I'm starving... There's no food in... Seriously no food... 1 egg, the thinest slither of cheese (seriously, why even bother putting it back in the fridge?!) a small chunk of bread that was made Sunday and has the texture of green scrubby now... and leftover scouse that DH burnt last night... I ate it for tea and it gave me rottten heartburn all night, I don't really fancy a repeat performance... Although DD2 is happy having it for her lunch so at least she's fed... I'm so annoted though... It's alright for some, taking the last bit of change out of my purse and buying themselves sandwiches at work...

Wonder if Dominos would deliver 1 sub?... <ponders>

Minimum £8.99 spend for delivery... I can't decide if I'm that annoyed... I wonder if the subs keep... Could always order 2 and have one tomorrow... ;)

Or you could use egg and slither of cheese to make omlette? My OH is forever taking the last of everything:mad:
