A huge thanks to everyone for all your kind words and wishes for the birth Matthew is utterly adorable, and I still can't believe he's ours.

Welcome Doglover and Clarieloo and SDH and Puzzledbubbles and mummy2angel. Everyone on here is really lovely, and very helpful whatever the question. Hmmm....did you all come over because I left Maybe I smell :rotfl:

I'm a bit sad that I had to give up my top spot on the list, but I guess I had to let someone else have the honour for a while

Can I just say to everyone - PELVIC FLOOR EXERCISES. Please please do them and remember what they feel like to do. My MW advised me to keep doing them after the birth. I can't seem to be able to squeeze those particular muscles yet. Hopefully soon though.

Not long till ML Grateful. I bet you're looking forward to it. Make the most of any 'me' time you get. It's wonderful, and very short lived unfortunately (not that I would swap little baby for anything)

Apricot - I got some nice things on line from Asos. They were dresses, but I'm sure they do work-type stuff too.

ema_o - you're mad! Can your friend not come to you or meet you halfway? Or can you not take the train? It's far too long a drive (well it was for me at that stage)

Sharkey - I missed your post about contractions. Hope everything went ok for you. My waters broke after about 9 hours of contractions. In terms of hot baths - it can help the pain, it can also slow down contractions, even right near the end (it did for me)

Teenie - sproglet was engaged before Christmas if that helps. So I had about 2 months with him engaged.

For anyone worried about taking MS medicine, I can confirm that I took it for a long time, and sproglet has the correct number of limbs and digits.

Shazza - I had back to back labour. It's not impossible, but you may well get a much stronger urge to push before you're fully dilated. Thought I should warn you. The MWs were telling me not to push, but it was impossible not to. So I shouted at them The water was wonderful for the pain.

Sammy - hope baby turns for you

SM - I had that feeling for a day or so before my contractions started. Might not be the same for everyone though.

Poor you Lauren. I had to walk in to the hospital with soggy clothes looking like I'd wet myself, so you have my sympathy

Sorry for the monster post. Wanted to catch up while Matthew was asleep. Trouble is, I fell asleep too

Hello everyone- Just a quick update to say that Sofia Mary-Jean was born 15th February 2011 at 9.12pm and weighed 6pds3. The most beautiful baby in the world. All the pain is worth it in everyway. We got discharged this afternoon and everything is going well.

Congrats to HM and good luck Lauren. Labour Vibes to anyone who may need them. Will be in touch in a couple of days to post all the details
Thanks again for everyone's well wishes yesterday during my time of need.lol.

I'm sure i'm doomed at the moment. After the urine infection, low iron levels, and off the scale huge baby measurements, i've been waiting for my tens machine to arrive. It was posted 7 days ago 1st class and should have been here by last monday. Its not arrived and its not at royal mail's depot. Got in contact with the company i've hired it from and they said they only send it 1st class (not recorded) so have to wait 14 days before they can do anything. Thing is, i find it a little frustrating, i've paid for 6 weeks hire and will probably only get it for 3. Lets hope bubs decides not to come in the next week!

Anyway, rant over. Good luck with everythig Lauren, hope your holding your bubs soon and you get the labour you want.
