I have a baby hawk mei tei and love it... Even DH is happy to wear it :)
was going to sort out the forms this week with a view to starting it at week 36 (i'm just coming into week 29 now) so was hoping I had enough time for it all!

You think i'll still get the maximimum amount then? I literally just paid up the whole year lol!
I claimed MA with DD1 and left it until about 35weeks to claim, they ended up paying my claim from when I became eligible so I got a hefty back payment... Don't know if that is still the same though...

Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.

  • Well last night was rather unsuccessful on the sleep front. OH woke me up at 1am, DD woke up at 1:47am, then again at 2:44am, then again at 3:24am so I brought her downstairs to sleep with me as OH has work. at 4:30am she let out the biggest fart and within 5 minutes had gone to sleep so I am assuming she had trapped wind.:rotfl: We were then up at 7am. I am hoping that DD decides she wants a nap so I can get some sleep lol.

Hope everyone else had a more successful nights sleep :D

  • Morning all!

I also didn't have the most successful night's sleep ever - basically it was all over from about 4.30. But that does mean I've got a few things done already and can now indulge in totally guilt free lounging!

After much deliberation/advice etc we finally decided to go for washable nappies and they should be delivered today - we decided to go for bumGenius. They wash at 40 degrees and don't need long to dry.
Very much at the last minute I know, but hopefully I'll have a couple more days to get organised with them. We're also stocked with a couple of packs of disposables just in case.

A question for you ladies (and a TMI alert, sorry :o) - the only thing that's been quite different for me lately is in the no.2 dept. I'm usually a once a day/regular but now have to go more often. Also getting quite a bit of period type pain - but for me this kind of feeling (aching, kind of "dragging") can be either period or dodgy-gut feeling. It's just a bit weird and unsettling!
Can't find much on the internet - I know period pains can be the start of contractions - but what I've been feeling is more of a continuous dull ache rather than coming and going. There was also something about the increase in hormones before labour causing dodgy guts..
    Anyone any ideas??

    Morning Spagetti

I get this fairly frequently - it's difficult to describe but it's a sort of periody type achy cramping as you say in the no2 dept.
I don't think it's anything to worry about - not sure what stage of pregnancy you are at but I experience it now sometimes (at 20 weeks) and have experienced it in my other pregnancies.
I recall most people saying I wouldn't be able to go but actually having the opposite problem :o

EDIT - just read back and you are near your EDD so could be the start of something for you - fingers crossed!
Don't think it's anything to worry about x
  • Congrats Hngrymummy on your baby boy :j

Could be the start of something! Some ladies do talk about "special poos" when the body prepares for labour by ahem emptying itself. Fingers crossed this is what is happening for you!

Excellent choice going for real nappies, mine are just in the washer now, then outside for a blow on the line and some sun bleaching! I get them out as frequently as possible to keep them as white as possible. I have used Kushies all in one for my first two and they wil be good to use again when #3 has finished growing and makes an appearance :D I can't imagine how much money we have saved already :T. However I always use disposables when they are very little because the nappies are soooooo disgusting to start with, and always at night because the real nappies just don't keep everything in quite as well.

    Good luck with it all

    Morning ladies.

I was considering washable nappies for a while but then decided against and then I consider them again! Indecisive much! Are they really much of a hassle?

I had a good sleep last night and have a day off work today so have minimal housework and a day of chiling out planned.

Hope everyone is ok and labour vibes to all in need.
