Jeez I am soooo tired all of a sudden, wish I could curl up in a wee ball and have a snooze, this is like 1st trimester tiredness!!

Anyhoo since I can't, I have a question, when will a baby generally engage? I know I still have plenty of time but I am pretty bored (which isn't helping the tiredness LOL) so just wondering! :D

Well ladies, I had my 20 week scan yesterday and we found out we are TEAM BLUE. That's great because then we will have a little girl and a little boy.

All was well with the scan - growth rate good. When we got home, we compared the sizes to that of my daughter from her notes that we scanned before returning them and they are virtually the same size - looks like we could have another 8lb baby .

The other good news is that the consultant doesn't want to see me again (in the nicest possible way!) as my previous pregnancy was straightforward despite my earlier troubles. The only downside to that is no more scans unless I specifically request one through the midwife. I had 9 scans when expecting my daughter!!

Labour vibes to all those who need it!!

I cant remember when either of mine engaged, im sure it was the last few weeks. maybe form 37 onwards. I remember I was waddling for a few weeks, that was because the baby felt so low, so I guess it was engaged then.

Cheers hun. This baby is lying transverse and has been since my last mw appointment I am nearly 100% sure it hasn't turned in any direction at all! I just remember with K that I was feeling a lot more discomfort really low down iyswim!!! Shouldn't complain really as at least I'm no getting a head in my ribs or a foot in my bits, just hope the little monkey does move eventually LOL!!!

    Teenie, is it your first?
They can engage at any time, from a couple of months before to due date i think. But if its not your first then they won;t engage properly until labour.
I had my consultant appt this afternoon and she said that i was partly engaged, i said but he can pop out again can't he? and she said yes.

Iron levels have dropped, so got to start iron tablets, which i hate as they make me feel sick and constipated and they also found something in my wee, so have sent it off to be tested.
I feel so heavy and uncomfortable, i can feel every move this baby makes and it sometimes takes my breath away. Measuring at 38.5cm-average is 37, so i know its another large baby.

    .

No it's my second so it could be a last minute job LOL. DD kept popping out, 2 days before I was being taken in to be induced she had come right out again, both myself and the mw couldn't believe it!

  • Hi All

    Just a very quick message.

No first name as yet. Will post more later or tomorrow. Still very tired.

If anyone knows me on FB, please no messages. Still a couple of relatives to tell.
