  • Can I ask you guys how long it took to sort your MA out please? I've got the forms ready to fill in (PDF off the net) so what do I do with them? Can I e-mail them? They need to check against my NI contributions which I paid last week as I am self employed but i'm hoping to get the max too and was wondering how long it took to sort it all out from start to finish?!

It was four years ago I did mine but I don't remember it being excessively long. You only need 26 weeks of contributions to qualify so unless you're only just scraping the 26 weeks I doubt it will matter too much whether the NI contribution records are fully up to date. If you're paying self employed contributions then you get the maximum amount and if you're self employed and not paying (i.e. using a low income exemption certificate) then you get the minimum amount.

Thanks for that. Basically I was entitled to an exemption certificate but chose to pay the NI contributions instead so that I would be entitled to this. So I just paid up the whole year's class 2 NI contributions last week and was going to sort out the forms this week with a view to starting it at week 36 (i'm just coming into week 29 now) so was hoping I had enough time for it all!

You think i'll still get the maximimum amount then? I literally just paid up the whole year lol!

  • 4 days to mat leave for me. I'm exhausted and get indigestion from just water. I also haven't had a chance to do any getting ready things.

Also I'm fully convinced baby will be here by March 17th, so I will read back and see if I was right!

I bet your OH is pleased he's got it in red lol. I reminded my DH that the pushchair part of ours is red and so Arsenal colours and he wasn't impressed that I hadn't reminded him when we bought it lol.

Its ok because we can change the seat cover on pushchair over to black, very MSE!! :rotfl:

20 working days left for me

What on earth made me think I could work upto 38 weeks. I'm so unbelievably tired all the time.
Wish I was finishing earlier now.

No working days for me, im a lady of leisure :D

(When i said that to DH once he said "What a prostitute?" :rotfl:!!)

    Edit: The dictionary definition is
    leisure [ˈlɛʒə (US also) ˈliːʒər]
    n
    1.
    a. time or opportunity for ease, relaxation, etc.
    b. (as modifier) leisure activities
    2. ease or leisureliness
    at leisure
    a. having free time for ease, relaxation, etc.
    b. not occupied or engaged
    c. without hurrying
at one's leisure when one has free time

So i am not a lady of leisure as such :p

Oooo, me posting on a Monday. Unheard of.

Have decided to give up drumming til after Bubs....only haven't told themyet . DH is away til Friday boo but BFF coming for 2 nights tomorrow yay. Valentines day.....means a good episode of Corrie followed by OBEM whilst hugging bump. Good times.

Ain't spending the night on-line as I'm trying to de-tox and not be so dependent. DH moved router yesterday so was liberated for a few hours....so disappeared off to garden centre and bought a pot the Loved and Adored border from Babies r us as it's finally come back in to stock.

Laters and happy valentines/hallmark swiz for us to spend money for the sake of it. I prefer to celebrate events meaningful for me and DH so 16 years since first date celebrations in posh nosh place in Glasgow on Saturday. Hurrah!
