i can say thankyou in sign language (helps with deaf customers at work) but other than that nothing, would love to learn it mind you!

my dining room now looks like a show home... about to go make chilli for tea and then have a quick shower and get changed for the cinema.

please is pretty much the same as thankyou ;) i am deaf and never learnt sign language. i used to get embarrassed when people came up to me in the street signing and i couldnt understand :o i taught myself bits over the years then did a course on baby sign. not long after i looked after a boy with deaf parents who taught a few nursery rhymes and basic words. my ds seems to have picked it up quicker than me :o

he loves mr tumble - but he does makaton, which is slightly different to BSL , and has picked up loads from there!

well done :Tsign language is easy to pick up! my ds is 22months and he can do some :D

    Thank you :)

I can say 'My name is', 'what's your name?', emergency, and strangely, sellotape and strangle. I can also do the alphabet and the days of the week, driving and some country names. Oh and 'bomb!'

My MIL used to teach deaf children maths so she gave me all her learning sheets a few months ago, hence the sellotape and bomb signing abilities :rotfl:

Morning all, just a quick one before uni, i'll be back later. Fever and pains were much worse last night, I feel so silly, I called my mum almost crying and one of my flatmates kept checking on me and helping me down the stairs to go for a wee because I was so shakey! Second round of paracetamol/ibuprofen got rid of it enough for me to sleep thank god! Now I'm leaving for the first lecture of one of my modules in half an hour and I've got chills and pains again! I've taken paracetamol/ibuprofen and really hope it kicks in soon :(
I anticipate it'll be worse tonight so will take something as soon as it starts and get into bed as i'm in 9-4 tomorrow with no breaks!

I hope that you start to feel better soon. Maybe a few days in bed with compleate rest will do you good.
Dont get working too hard or stressing out over anything as this will no dout make for worse.
    look after yourself

    Nic - (((hugs))) you poor thing x x x x

had a horrible experience myself this morning. :(The house I clean for was burgled - I went in to find it had been ransacked - a right mess. The elderly lady it belongs to is in America until the end of April. Her neighbours and I rang the police who to their credit were there really quickly as were the forensic people. I've left them to it now.
The neighbour is going to ring her in America later as she'll have lots to do informing her bank etc.
We are not used to crime like this where I live - it is a very small close-knit town where we all feel relatively secure.
There will be a lot of cleaning up to do eventually. They didn't take anything large - seems to be jewellery and paperwork they were after.
I'm still a bit wobbly, had a coffee and a chat to the neighbour as she felt the same - its such a shock.

How do some people sleep at night?

What a shock for you, i hope that your feeling better now.

You wont to know how people sleep at night? well they sleep very well! The people who do this dont care, not one bit as long as they are ok then stuff the rest of the world....

Now silver lineing and all that. Do you think there is going to be any overtime in it for you?:D

Halight - you and Bitsy said the same - they sleep very well, unlike their victims, Taplord said they dont sleep at night - they are too busy out robbing so they sleep in the daytime:D

No overtime:D I'm paid up front to spring clean the house by the end of April when she returns from America so I'll just have a bit more to do than usual.
Some close friends are coming to help with the paperwork that was strewn everywhere. Drawers were emptied out everwhere and they trod mud all over the place.
She's a tough old bird in her 80's I think and she seems to have taken it ok but maybe the shock hasn't hit her the same as it would if she'd seen it.

Just had a lovely mushroom risotto for tea with a quorn burger - yummy!:)
Didn't do the ironing but it can wait.

JulieGeorgiana - well done on bein quoted!

I've been to doctors and I have vertigo :( (as well as my cold). I can still drive but can't do anything at height, in water or in enclosed spaces - so that puts paid to me doing rock climbing, abseiling, gorge walking and caving in 2 weeks time with my work kids!! :rotfl:
