plans for today
shopping list, grocery shopping, a huge mountain of washing to get through(3 beds changed yesterday) plus a bit of ironing.
Got to drop DS2 GF off and then take him on to work this afternoon.
Thats about it for now. I want to buy some paint for the stairs and landing but am lacking in energy to start painting.
Hope you all have a good day x xDo what you love :happyhear0 -
Morning folks - had it on good authority that it was snowing in Edinburgh this morning ...but I didn't get up in time so it's sunny now
. Think snow showers were forecast though.
Positive thoughts to all who are about to hear about cuts to jobs and wages.
Kitchen is in a muddle (sounds better than a mess:p) as DH had a day off yesterday and we didn't do much here. Went to Bella Italia for a 2for1 meal at lunchtime which was lovely. Anyway, this morning will be spent having a tidy up, quick clean to kitchen and bathroom and a load in WM.
Getting hair cut and highlighted this afternoon so I'm looking forward to that. This is my first time using Groupon. I have another voucher for a massage so I'm looking forward to that later in the month.
My sister has been on a yoga retreat and comes back today I think. Last year they went to Goa and this time it's near there but somewhere else:rotfl:. Looking forward to hearing about it.
Might make some Twinks again later on as the last ones went down well. I made them slightly bigger than usual and didn't give them a long so they were more chewy. Yum yum.
Off out with dogs in a mo to see how 'my' lovely snowdrops are getting on in the park. They are all in bloom now I think - lovely big clumps of them.
Take care all

Morning everyone

Quick on from me. Nothing really to report. When I hve free time I shall be making some bread and doing the usual cleaning. Mount washing has been reduced so I may have a reprieve today from wet washing on the airer in our bedroom.
Not sure what's for tea as H is off out on his departmental Xmas do tonight so will probably have something simple like pasta and salad.
Hugs, spoons and high fives all round. Have a good day OS or not.I have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knife

Morning all
Sorry been MIA again but things have gone from bad to worse here and I felt unable to post or even log in. I'm OK but in a mess emotionally (and financially) but my DD's and friends have been very supportive. OH moved out on Tuesday he is stopping at his daughters for the time being until things are sorted. We have an appointment to see the bank on saturday.
Had the worst weekend ever and was topped off by a runaway car smashing into the car that my DD and I share which was parked outside our house. The repairers are coming to tow it away this morning as we cannot drive it. It just feels that if it can go wrong it will go wrong at the moment.
Sorry to be a moaner - hope those who are ill soon feel better.
Thanks for the pm and messages of support you are a wonderful crowd:A

Well I had a burst of energy (doesnt happen very often) and made lots of cauli/ brocolli cheese because i have a passion for it and macaroni cheese for kids tea tonight. Washing machine is on and my dear cleaner is going to work her magic soon. I must go and get dressed now and i suddenly feel really tired. Thinks ive use my spoons up and they are currently in the dishwasher. Oh well - I enjoyed it. Hugs xxI must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.0 -
Big ((HUGS)) to Nic1Lou2 - and anyone else in need of one today. I do know what you mean about things escalating, just when you think they can't get any worse - they nearly always do, don't they?
Sympathy to N9eav over the tax coding too. I take Mollie's point about younger folk at bottom end being a bit better off, but I remember being thrilled when governors told me I'd merited a payrise, only to find it took me into the next tax bracket - more responsibility, longer hours...and less in the paypacket at the end of the month! Oh well...
Tuition went OK yesterday, and I didm't feel as tired as I expected. However, a trip to A & E with DS at bedtime not so good! I think he's OK, although they've kept him in overnight and he's on a drip and strong pain-relief again. Waiting for the doctors' rounds to see if he'll be staying or coming home later on.
OS today? Hmmm! Well the usual WM and BM bits but still not dealt with the second lot of seville oranges yet! Need to sort out the bureau which no longer shuts! Had panic earlier searching for older dog's card as she had to go to the vet's for her annual MOT and jabs this morning. All well, and he's even pleased with her weight for once! Where does all this paperwork come from? It seems to multiply every time I turn my back!
have had really nice GHousekeeping recipe book free as I've taken out a subscription for just half of the over the counter cost - I reckon the cookbook alone is worth the money!
Oh well, enough blethering - hope you all stay safe today and enjoy whatever comes your way!Resolution:

Morning all! Washing machine just finishing load 2, one to go, where does it come from, basket was empty yesterday morning! It has snowed at some point through the night, car covered in slush! Off to take mum to supermarket, she's just phoned to see whats keeping me! Have a good day, big hugs to anyone who wants/needs one!RIP Iain

Morning all
Well like N9eav we are worried about the new tax threshold as only having 1 working adult to support 5 of us who has to do overtime for us to survive and pay mortagage and pay our bills he will be working more hours for the same or less money so even less family time which cant be good DD1 will earn more before tax but she has no financial responsibilities so not major for her
Enough with the doom n gloom
Hope you are ok aussie
HHester hope you get on ok today with the announcments
Nic1 hugs to you hope they get the car fixed soon for you stay strong hunny
Good news Taplady
RRuby hope dads visit goes well
Roast chook pieces n roasties for tea i am off to a meeting with a few neighbours about the new thames crossing it may be coming quite close to us:eek:
Right have a good day0 -
Good Morning All
(((Nic))) feel free to offload here - we all have at one time or another, hope things improve for you.
Tad milder here and we even had sunshine earlier.
Have 3.5 hours on my 2nd job and a few other office bits as well have just received a nasty letter from the vat man as some of our vat payment is late - will need to sort that out today we will clear it but will take a couple of weeks - lets see if they will wait!
Other than that same old stuff here, have salmon with new pots and peas tonight. We are on a mission to empty the freezers as they are full to busting at the moment.
Oh well, nose back to the grindstone - have a great day.x0 -
Hi everyone!!
Nic it sounds like you've had a terrible run of bad luck, you poor thing. I hope it picks up soon.
Loulou I hope your little one gets better soon.
You all sound like you're being so productive today! I'm just at work like normal (I swear every single day I post on here I'm working which sounds right for my life!). Nearly had a tiff with the bf today...at the bus stop! The shame! I started saying something and he was just like I'm not arguing with you in a bus stop and got in the car and drove off. I was stood there with my massive suitcase like "This isn't an argument, I'll give you a bloody argument".
Wasn't the best start to my day!
I'm having Chinese out with my office today and my cousin and his fiancee are making me Chicken Curry for tea. Weightwatchers has fallen very much to the wayside so I think I'm just going to try to exercise some level of self control and get back on it on Sunday when I get back from London!
I hope you all have lovely days although I'm sure I'll be back here later waffling away some more x0
