Afternoon - massive hugs to everyone who needs them. Today seems to be Friday 13th in disguise. Days like these make me feel very thankful that my job is more secure than most and that we live a simple life.
I've been MIA for a while - work and life in general has kept me offline, but at least I've got a bit of a breather today.
    So far today I've
-washed my work suits and tops and put them on the clothes horse outside for a graze on the concrete.
-reinsured the house - managing to trim 10% off the original quote .
    - sorted out the worming prescription for the garden tiger (to be picked up tomorrow)
-emptied and refed the DW -I'm trying out Mr T's value tablets, as they've just reappeared in my local.

There's a skein of cream cotton tape and a cotton CS cardigan currently being dyed 'burlesque red' in the WM- it's currently going through the rinse cycle. The cardi was a distressing shade of peachy melon and significantly too big for me, but as it was on the pound rail, I couldn't resist it. Im looking forward to seeing what shade of purple/red it comes out!
We defrosted the utility FF last night. DH emptied out the water this morning - now all I have to do is wipe it out put the trays back in. It will be back in use by Saturday morning, when I will be filling it full of HM ready meals.

    Take care everyone

Good afternoon everyone well I am :j:j:jmy lovely DD Tessa has been offered a job.She was laid off Christmas week, the day after her birthday(sounds very Dickensian doesn't it) and has been trying so hard for the past 6 weeks to get something else.Last week one firm told her she was over qualified (which she was) but she was willing to take almost anything. With five children and a mortgage her and her OH work extremely hard .I help out with child care, but with the cost of living zooming up its a case of she has to work to help support the family. She has just phoned to say she 's been offered a job that I took her for a second interview for earlier this week and she has accepted it .The moneys reasonable and there are a few good extras with her package which are useful. So if I could leap up and down I would as I know she was getting very worried about the employment situation .Its a great weight off all of our minds and we will probably celebrate over the week-end.But I had to share my good news with you all.

I have done a bit of running around this morning paying bills mostly and picking up eldest DDs shoes from the cobblers, shows times are getting tough, as once upon a time she would have binned them, but now as there is a good cobblers in my village I took them in for repair, and he's done a great job.two sets of heels at £11.90 is cheaper than two new pairs of shoes;) us frugal old dears aren't daft
NSD for me today as I got some leek & tattie soup from the freezer out for lunch, and tonight I shall have a chilli pasty slice from the freezer with new potato's and salad.
Tomorrow I have to go with DD and take my youngest DGS Mikey (6) to the dentist as he has to have one of his little teeth out.He has a problem in the gum underneath it and they want to give him an injection to take it out and have a look at the gum properly.Bless him he is such a dear little chap I don't know who will be more upset me or his Mum.
Well I'm off to have a celebratory cup of tea and a couple of biscuits Hope everyone has a good afternoon.I used my new washer this morning and it was brilliant It does a 'light wash' in 30 minutes so I put it on just before I showered and by the time I had breakfast it was done and hanging on the line getting a nice blow.I shall bring it in shortly, but its lovely to see a little bit of sunshine at last.long may it remain.
    Cheer chums

    Afternoon

Best wishes to all those who are having a bad time.

Just had gas boiler serviced by BG got a shock when he told me it's 12yrs old can't believe how time flies ,apparently theres some parts that arn't available for it now and when it's 15yrs there won't be any how stupid is that:mad:.Hopefully i won't need any parts ,it's always been serviced and never had any probs so fingers crossed.

Lovely sunny day the washing is out on the line, dogs walked and all the hoovering done, going to make up some food for the birdies then put my feet up and have a snooze.

Enjoy your afternoon hope your getting this nice sun as well.

Tappers ...I know the shock of burglary we were burgled when we first moved in to this house it was awful and sickening especially as we were in the house asleep at the time with 2 young children:eek:

Nic1lou2 ((((((Hugs)))))) It never rains it pours but try to keep strong you are probably better off without the selfish B*d x

Well I am back from the hospital - I really hate the L&D! Firstly the Consultant was running 45 minutes late, then when I finally got to see him he didn't have the answers to my questions - what a PLEB! DH was definately not impressed he thinks that this consultant is an arrogant S.O.B
I will get more out of my Ortheopaedic Surgeon, at least he listens and answers questions clearly and concisely and no, he is not based at the L&D thankfully.
Suffice it to say I have to wear compression stockings every day( 2 pairs £29 ) and lay with my feet above my heart as often as I can during the day, lose weight and try to exercise more  contradictory or what?
It is a good job DH is on a low wage and we don't pay for prescriptions, if I had to pay I would have to go without a lot of my drugs :(,

(((((((((Hugs))))))) to all those MIA especially Diva, Lamewolf, JackieG, NPM, jayward and ladygrim I hope that you are all OK x

Well I have had my vent so I am off for a coffee x
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light

  • i havent been out into our garden since Setpember :o

i am still using our airer indoors to get things dry, TD used twice a week to finish off towels/sheets and to run through my black uniform for work to defluff it... must spend time next week (have 2 days off in a row!) getting line wiped and one huge bush trimmed down to the stem. forgive my gardening ineptitude but its one of those ones with spheres of flowers that are either purple, pink or blue, think its soil dependant? anywho, by this time of the year its just all dead, so i cut it back and by golly it grows back!

just watched latest episode of the good wife. i LOVE that programme, i have to download it as its a US show. Never gets shown here. it has Mr Big from SATC in it, hes lush! :heartpuls

off to the cinema later to see the kings speech, anyone else seen it?

  • Just popped back on to say that the hospital called and said that I can start on Monday coming

The HR lady also said she'd e-mail me details of where I was going etc, and duly did. All it tells me is to report to the gatehouse where they will give me further instructions!

So I'm now quite nervous; I'm going to ge 40 miles from home, in a medium secure unit, learning sign language . Maybe I should have chosen something easier....

Oh well, I'll have a panic Sunday night no doubt. For ow, I'm off to make Anzac biscuits.
